My wife Spark has been bumped into at the LH front door moulding area by
some irresponsible driver while being parked at a car park. Take it to a
car spray painting workshop....knocked back the dented area for
RM50....then ask to bring back the car for spray painting the next
day...RM250 for 2 pcs of LH doors so that it can match back the
colour....otherwise the dented part will be different it they just spray
the affected area.

Do you guys think...they're talking nonsence. My car is just 3 weeks
old...so if they did respray that area it should match what....how come it
don't match...any ideas whether this guys is telling the truth?.

Should l take it back to the SC for doing the job?.

Any good shop in Ipoh best doing this kind of matching job ...just for
affected area?.

hi,
IMO, if he says respray both doors, what about the fender? If really he's
worried bout difference, then, he should even respray the front fender as
well, am I not right? Then, if he repsrays the back door to match the
front door, maybe, the rear fender will not match, so, respray the rear
fender too? Die lor, end up you need to respray the whole car!!

If he's a very good repairer, with experience, there will NOT be any
differences. Also, Rm250 for 2 doors, VERY CHEAP!! what kind of material
is he using? Unbelievably cheap. 3weeks old car, there will be difference
if it's done by a con man. If it's done by an expert, 5yrs old also no
difference in terms of color. However, expect to see difference in the
shine as new paint definitely more shine. Maybe you can get a quote from
the SC. If you don't know anyone trustworthy, SC is the best bet for you
I guess.

jaleeks23...you're right too and it did cross my mind too if that fella
respray the 2 doors ...how about the fender and back. So that's why i did
not take back my cars to him the following day. Will send the car to SC for
doing the job when it time for 1000km service.

Thanks for the feedback. These days...a lots of this blood sucking workshop
trying to get hold of anything they can lay their hands on when comes to
$$$$$$$$. It is the last visit as far as i'm concerned.

too bad you're not in KL. Else, can recommend someone to you. in case you
want to revisit the shop, do ask him what material he uses..hehe..
you can ask him if he uses either Dupont or Glasurit
These are 2 brands that's good in quality, so far as I know. May hv
others but 2 is more than enuf lor.
If he doesn't understand the word "GLASURIT", you can say in
cantonese "cheok chai muk" - "bird brand"..they may only know it as that
since it's logo is a bird.

Spraying is like an art. no fix formula. usually, they will not spray
the 2 door with the color paint. they will try to do toning from the
dented area toward the rest of the area. then he will spray a clear coat
all over the two doors.

that is why they need a big area to work on even the dented area is
small. i don't know anyone in ipoh but i know a good sprayer in Kampar.
He has been in Japan doing paint job and i am satisfy with his work.

let me know if u really want to send your car to Kampar for a spray.

them lah. Wah...you're really expect in the painting job and i have not
heard of the art of toning.

Thanks again bro.
