The Naza Sutera just launched , starts from RM 35,998.

Comes with features that future Savvy owners might think twice, few features
to name, such as

i) 1.1L DOHC 16-valve engine (WHY NAZA DON`T WANT TO DISCLOSE THE
HORSEPOWER AND TORQUE FIGURES?!)
ii) Dual AirBags
iii) MP3 CD Player with 6 speakers.
iv) 6 funky colors (all models) to choose.

There is no figures to compare with Proton Savvy, as the Naza brochures did
not disclose any specifications to the car.

My opinion (unbiased)
i) It`s head room is taller than Savvy, no doubt of that.
ii) Good looking dashboard and a better looking steering wheel.

The downside is:
i) I hate the back lights; it`s worse than looking at Kia Rio. The Savvy could
probably win in this segment.

Sutera is a very good news for all the future saVVy owner...coz if savvy
want to compete..protron MUST reduce the price..hehehe..

currently savvy is 39K for base line..
maybe they should reduce to 35K at least for a BaseLine model..

only my view la..dont marah or kutuk me kaw2..

if i`m not mistaken, the top speed up to 140kmh only..really design for
city drive only..this really a bad point of this car..if i feel like
wanna buy kancil, i might consider this sutera, but if i wanna buy savvy
or kelisa,
this naza would not be in my list..

where did u get that top speed of sutera only 140km/h? even kelisa 1.0 can
touch 160km/h.

if it design for city drive it would have offer auto gear... savvy gonna
drop price, hopefully, or provide dual airbag at RM39k.

Extract from the write up in the 'other' e-mag M T.

"The engine is a 1075 cc 4-cylinder petrol DOHC unit with EFI and
produces a modest 48 kW/65 ps of power and 88 Nm of torque at between
3000 and 2500 rpm. It’s a simple engine which is made by Hafei and meets
current Malaysian emissions standards and can run on regular petrol
(RON92)."

The power and torque being available between 2500 - 3000 rpm is clear
sign of an engine tuned for city driving, should be easier and smoother.
Probably the gearing also matched to the engine and hence the low top
speeds. At least we won't be seeing the kancil hell drivers graduating to
the sutera for lack of top speed. the sawi on the other hand... seems to
be egging these kind of drivers onwards with its claims of top speed
and 'handling'.

But in the end, the boleland market seems to be maturing and active
safety items like abs and airbags are being demanded. The majority of the
orders for the myvi seems to be for the higher end models equipped with
both. Hopefully that would means that p2 will soon be forced to provide
such items as a no cost option for the other models like the kelisa and
kenari in order to compete in this lucrative price segment. As for
plotong, well, they have truly missed the boat and whatever plotong may
try to do now, they are only third best Angry
