Hi,
Would like to know the cost of changing or replace the following parts for
budgetary purposes?
a) Absorber, front and back
b) Silverstone tyre for kancil
c) Average normal service charge such as oil change, air and oil filter
and spark plug
d) Timing belt. Currently my mileage is 26000km. I bought the car three
years ago. Though the mileage seems low, is it the right time to change?
Thank you.

Delon,
Are you saying that you bought 2nd hand Kancil?
From owner or dealer?
If from dealer than better change it unless there is a bill to show prove
the car millage. Most car dealer always like to adjust the meter.
Usually we change it at 80K KM but the book say 100K KM.

Hi delon,
a) All 4 (front n back) cost RM270 for Kayaba. Monroe is about RM290 just
for fronts only.
b) Why Silverstone when you can have Bridgestone B390 which very grippy
and comfy for only circa RM80 per piece? But gotto go to Klang la.
c) Change oil and filter RM8 for labour. Change spark plug and air filter
can DIY. Really easy. If insist on mechanic do it, then dunno the price.
d) Timing belt still very OK what if you don't drive like Schumacher. P2
recommended change at 100,000th km. But of course almost any tom, dick n
harry mechanic including a lot of so-called expert say change at 80,000km
and some even say 60,000km. They are way more 'experienced'. If in doubt
ask you mechanic to visually check the belt for any sign of wear.
Disregard the above if you drive like Schumacher. Be a smart consumer.
Regards.
