My love-hate relationship with my 5008 continues:

There are times when I growl in frustration when the whole vehicle shudders and crashes over rough roads due to its faulty suspension (more on that somewhere in this thread). I squint in disbelief looking at some locations of shoddy assembly. I sigh when I shut the tinny panel of a door, in concert with the rest of the poorly soundproofed frame. I shake my head thinking of the engineering idiocity that compelled the chaps to hide something as commonly accessed as the battery in a maze of Mensa puzzles under the bonnet. I burble with rage thinking of the refusal of some coward/s at Naza to honour my request for warranty work by citing expiry of warranty when in fact written complaints were logged over a 2 year duration prior.

Then, sometimes... I beam with surprise when the THP engine surges with an immediacy that melts away the pounds on a seemingly portly MPV. I nod in approval at the well-appointed, non tarted-up-Jap, tasteful dash design. I sometimes raise an approving eyebrow while looking at its exterior design. I smile sublimely when I watch my little juniors enjoying their road-trip in the cossetting comfort of a spacious cabin.

So, do I love it or do I hate it? Maybe i should pick up a daisy, start pulling out the petals one by one chanting 'I love it, I love it not, I love it...' and see where that takes me.

Sorry, pidot, if that didn't help too much in decision making. Cheers!

Wtphung,

Normally electricals and sensors are very PITA to trouble shoot even for modern Jap cars. What I'm nervous about is ECU problem which is rarely something to fail in any cars. Secondly, the respond from Nasim is really a shame. It shows they are still elementary in their learning curve. Furthermore, there is limited technical info in overseas 5008 club forums and mostly are in foreign language and are not fully documented in terms of problems owners are experiencing like yourself. Do keep us up to speed on your car.

Some question I have is :

1) Does 5008 factory filled with Syntium3000 fully synthetic oil? Unlike other cars, EP6CDT engine seem do not need any oil change until 10,000km. Any owners can confirm this?

2) The gear level panel cover seem loose when shifting???

3) Are the twin LCD screens at the back of the headrest compatible with any portable DVD player? Anybody tried out watching movies with them?

Still considering whether to get Mazda 5, Estima ACR50 or 5008.... smile_question.gif

wow..this is my FIRST time , and reading from page 1 to 6. does things in this PUg get any badder or better if i read on?

1) Nasim is a #$%%% and is not in business to sell and service cars.
2) My Peugeot 508 landed in workshop and waiting for part for 21 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3) What is the use of warranty and empty promises of 5 years service and support if I can not drive my car for 21 days.
4) I wonder how does Nasim qualify itself to be Peugeot distributor. Nasim should be just selling nasik lemak and it can do anything it wishes. DAMN IT.

5) I am given a Peugeot careline 1-800-88-6292 and the no one is there to answer the questions.
6) As usual you were asked to leave messages and promises of call back. IDIOT and BULLSHIT, the damn managers are avoiding me, damn it.

7) Why appoint NAsim who does not know how to plan proactively to support customers.

8) The biggest JOKE of all, my car is only 1 year OLD and fully imported. Today it is still sitting in the workshop waiting for aircond compressor ?????????????????????
to make Nasim a distributor.

Oh dear...the more i read. the more aint good to hear

Brothers and Sisters,

A bit quiet here. Wonder anyone manage to change the stereo unit of your 5008? Warranty expired and thinking of upgrading the sound system therein
