Hi,

Recently can smell gasoline after driving. Sent to mechanic and they confirmed fuel tank crack.
However Rondo fuel tank is link with its suspension; therefore you need to replace the whole system.

Have anyone encounter this? Is there anything in the market that can patch the crack? Thank you.

That's what my mechanic said too, first time saw such superb design.

Mine was cracked due to the tank hitting something. Juz changed the tank. Nothing to do with suspension

Done in 2013 and paid RM3K

Update... Finally went to Kia red cube plentong to check on my leakage.
Was told that I have 2 options.
1) Repaced whole tank at a cost of approximately RM4k
2) Weld the crack with approximate cost of RM900
I choose to weld as it is cheaper. Even ordering the new tank from KL supplier is gong to cost me
around RM1800 excluding labour. What is most shocking to me is that there were already 4 Rondo
owners ahead of me that have experienced this problem, so I suspect that this is a design flaw!!!
Therefore if any Rondo owners smell any gasoline smell, most probably there is a fuel tank crack...

My final damage is about RM821 as they didn't do wheel alignment for me due to time constraint.

Just hope the welding holds up. I would weld too since you mentioned many cases already, so a new replacement can also crack again... smile_blackeye.gif
But they are very brave to do welding too, so they must have cleaned your tank properly as petrol fumes can still explode.
