Anyone heard anything about this tyre.

Was just about to order Goodyear Assurance triple max over the better performance yoko CD2 due to longer life but mechanic introduce the Toyo Nanoenergy 3 instead.

Not sure if its lasting or more importantly the grip is better or worse than my existing NCT5. I'm most likely going for this tyre unless someone tell me now that it is shitty.

Since I'm even ok with NCT5 (even when I have PS3 and V12 rides at home), if it does better than NCT5, its worth it liao. Price is ok at RM188 for 195/60/R15. I'm forgoing the proven CD2 to this and hopefully the treadlife is better (eco tyres mah), pray pray grip is comparable with NCT5 or better (toyo branded???) and it is more silent since it emphasize on reducing noise. These tyres are meant for high mileage driving as oppose to my 2 other rides.

Just notice there is an existing thread on June....but created new thread liao.

Bro. Cavino, Energy tyres now all brands have. Just take them as entry level tyres. Are the tyres from Malaysia factory since they have bought over Silverstone, even some C1-S already Malaysia made.
For your info, other brands are eg. Yokohama Bluearth, BS Ecopia, Hankook Kinergy, Nexen N Blue.... smile_tongue.gif

Thanks, first actually looking at aftermarket energy tyres. Just downgraded my Persona NCT5 to Toyo NanoEnergy 3 (NE3) or should I just say replace since NCT5 is not really very good anyway. Its durable tho since it lasted me almost 70k.

Thinking of replacing it with either Goodyear Ass. Triplemax or Yokohama CD2. In the end, decided that since this car is a high mileage daily car vs my other 2 (which uses PS3 and V12), I decided to go for durability instead rather than performance (pocket kosong).

That means either Triplemax or NE3 since CD2 is not known for durability. Triplemax emphasize on wet braking strength but I notice it seems to rely on LOT of sipes. That means like NCT5, performance might drastically degrade after abt 50% worn.
NE3 treads are all cut right to the base itself unlike sipes that usually stop at 50~75% of tread to base, so I figure it should maintain its performance to the minimum except for braking strength.

All 3 pricing as similar and Toyo do comes from the Malaysia's factory. It seems based on the shop, ecopia seems to finish very fast based on his other clients.
Toyo seems to have only 1 layer polyester on tread and sidewall like ecopia vs XM2/NCT5 2 layers on sidewall and tread. It should have a soft sidewall instead of the usual hard compound's hard sidewall. Since only release recently, no other input on durability.

Have not seen the actual tyres, but since you have bought you can check the depth of the cuts. But from pictures the two center line cuts will slowly shorten as the tyres wear.
1 layer polyester on thread area is not a problem, as there are two steel belt and another 2 polyester/nylon cover. The problem will be for the sidewall, so be careful not to curb the tyres... smile_tongue.gif

The 2 center lines cut is curved down to the base at only abt 25% of the full cut length. That means when tread wear to base, at most only 25% of the length is shorten. That is better than lots of other tyres and definitely trumped sipes that usually will be gone when 50% worn.

How about the shoulder pattern?

Shoulder pattern are cut right down to base, even the thin cut in between the larger cut pattern. So there is no sipe like shorten length of "effectiveness".

On 2nd day, drove through a heavy downpour, surprisingly very little aquaplaning. Not as great as V12 or even PS3 but more than good enuf to challenge the average "aquaplaning" minimization tyres.

Grip is ok too, more than adequate for daily driver with occasional hard cornering (it's normal grip, not V12 or PS3 cornering capabilities). Have to drive much longer to see if any negatives will appear.
