I had my car engine overheated twice while traveling at highway, each time spend ~rm1.5k for overhauled, very painful. I had been thinking why car manufacturer don't produce car with "engine overheating alert" function, as combustion engine can be screwed up easily by failure of cooling system and some other factors. Yes, engine temperature meter is there, but how many drivers would eye it? not even a glimpse most of the time, isn't it ? When sympton "lose of power' occur, it is often too late for engine rescue! The only thing one need to do then, is prepare enough $$$ . Few day ago while lepak at a shopping mall, I saw a product called " engine doctor " being sold in a shop. It come with a LCD display that show the engine (external) real-time temperature, and a module that will emit alert sound when engine overheating start to happen. Cost is about RM200, excluded installation job, relay & speaker. I intend to buy it, but before that, hope to hear feedback from user of this product ( really helpful? any cheaper ?) May be new cars nowadays are standardised with this type of function, so kindly update me. Thank you very much.

No brother, he means all cars. Problem is he does not look at the meters, so when cooling system leaks and overheats the engine, he kills the engine. He wants a warning system just in case....
