if you are not after power band but instead comfort then S80 2.5T are ideally for you, as this car are so comfort but some just said it's too comfort until it become boring... this car don't have much problem as I know as its the improved version of the first generation of S80.. BUT regular service for Volvo is essential as these car are designed mainly for cold country so our extreme hot weather here will eventually kill the parts sooner than what Volvo thought. so don't blindly follow what the Volvo recommended service scheduled.
since you intend to get used 2010 unit that have warranty expired.. better send the car that your like back to authorized service center ( federal auto ) to performance the inspection that will only cost your rm1xx and it came with full report of the car condition and recommendation. and if the car are bad then just give it out until you find the ideally unit.. my last advise is buying used Volvo need to be patient.

but if you are looking for comfort 1st. then Volvo's are champs. Amongst conti, they are the best.

if you have reliability as second, you may need to look elsewhere. the parts are really pricey as they dont have demand for them..

what is your budget? you can get a brand new S60 with 5 years warranty and service. it is very comfortable.

reliability isnt great as it shares it parts with Ford.

but the Ford uses a slightly older version vs. the Volvo one.

the Volvo City stop can stop up to 55km/h, where as the Ford on is only up to 35km/h (plus minus)

O.. sorry i'm compare apple to apple interns of similar models of both Volvo and Ford, example like current S60 T5 Vs Ford Mondeo that both are on similar power output/performance..but is just the mapping for both are slight different.
