I drive an Avanza 2006. The loan will be fully serviced in 4 months time.

I am big sized.

I used to drive a 1979 Volvo 244 plate no *** 33**. Then I sold it off without changing the name and got summoned but that's another story.

Volvo have big seats and back support.

Avanza back support is up to my arm pit level.

Should I invest around RM250 to modify the width and the height of the back support only?

It takes a day to do it.

Your comments and recommendation please.

I have post this at a wrong place, can anyone help me to repost?

I was wondering about that. I'm 6'2" and my wife is 5'2". I really want memory seats. I was wondering if I could buy the cool seats from an old Merc or something like that and put them in my car. Are all car seat rails the same?

rm250 to me is cheap enough.
like vr2,i cant see how they will do it as the frame needs to be mod to support the extra padding or the padding will just collapse.
imho any seat cam go into any car as long as the car has enough space.
modding the railing is an easy task.most of the time if the rail mount dont match, some welding is required.
i have fitted honda sm4 seat on a pajero with some welding involve.

Thanks guys for comments and opinions.

I will make this my pet project. I am not gonne rush it.

Before i Posted the qustion, I was at the cushion shop repairing the passenger seat back support. It seems that one of the welded metal inside the seat was out of its place and the shop had to open up the cover and weld it back and added 2 extra metal crossing the 2 original metal,. Now, no more annnoying metal sound if the cars go thru a bump or pothole.

I asked them about the mod and hence the quotation. The way the shop reply and describe the process, gives me the impression that they have done this before. I will go and ask more questions from the shop.

Thank again

If they are able to do it, then go ahead. Even though they can add metal by welding they have to add the backing cushion to widen the seat too. Let us know further on this after you have done it. Maybe a before and after picture....Thanks... smile_thumbup.gif

I think seat comfort is required to all the drivers while driving car. without comfortable driving is not suitable. you may need to change the car seat this is best idea.

If you take action you can modify and improve many of the declining factors that shunt us towards premature and preventable health problems. You can build back strength and lost muscle tissue, increase bone density and of course, comfort level by changing seat position.
