I notice the coating is quite fragile to wiping with cloth. smile_blackeye.gif Or maybe I didn't leave the basecoat to dry long enough. I think the instructions say to leave the base coat to dry for 24 hours!

If i were u, i'll never wipe the treated surface with anything as abrasion can damage the sharp peaks of the coating. On my rear windscreen, i just blow off any remaining droplets of water or just dab it with an MF cloth. Same as our Astro satellite dishes...no washing and no wiping. The grey surface is treated and highly delicate.
On any coated cars (paint coating) with the exception of OptiCoat, i like to blow the water off and dab the remaining droplets.

jklow123 and cbsteh, so you guys confirm that the nano coating is as sensitive as Glaco Zero (side view mirror) coating, where you cannot even touch the coating. What about washing the car, how will it affect the coating as with the Glaco Zero the foam also, spoils the coating.

Do you confirm that its not worth putting on side glass as the winding up and down will damage the coating.

Yah, maintenance is high. Difficult to clean glass properly, as you know our windshields can get dirty very fast.

Instructions (translated) say not to put on side windows because we might wind down the windows and damage the coat. But I am not sure about the rear windows although it shouldn't be any different than the case for the front windshield.

It is a shame about this product, really. Fantastic water repellent properties but coating is visibly ugly and difficult to maintain. I am planning to do some experiments to see if I can get the coating to look less ugly.

Ok let us know how the coating is affected when washing the car.

Thanks for trying the stuff out.

Thanks for your feedback. If that hard to maintain I rather not use.....

Yes, its as sensitive as Glaco Zero.
On my customer's cars and my personal cars, the treated side mirrors are never washed with spoo. Just spray with water and very very lightly swiped (not wipe) with MF wash mitt.

As for the nano thingy...i apply it only rear windscreen. If shampoo touches the glass while washing car, we pour water on the rear screen immediately. Its a bitch to maintain, but i love the effect.

On the side windows, i use regular RainX...good enough. Cheap and practical.
