Hi all, just got a year 2000 Estima Aeras 3.0, found some problems:
1. There is a mild wind noice during 100km/h, i am curious because it seems to come from the bottom of front windscreen, and also i notice outside smell came into cabin although air circulation is set to internal circulation
2. There is rattling noice from the right side vacuum door, during uneven road, the left side power door is ok
3. Can i start the car by twisting the key at once ? Or shall i twist to ON and wait till all lights go off before crank to start?
4. Do the doors have auto-lock function, let say when the car is driven to 30 km/h? Mine won't lock and must do it manually using the swich
5. After i park my car, i found that the floor area below the exhaust silencer have huge amount of water
6. How to unload the spare tyre? I can't find the notch or bolt

Really appreciate your feedbacks, thanks in advance

Hey Altis, only most active forum in Malaysia for Estima would be MEOG. Am a new owner of ACR30, 2.4.

1. Your wind noise could be standard as mine also have, or perhaps sometimes the rubber gap has worn out, such noise can be louder than others.
2. Have heard of lot of Estima has this problem, sorry can't help as no experience in this.
3. I can't see why it needs to wait till lights off before cranking.
4. your original alarm system likely no longer work. I change mine to aftermarket, they will ask you if you like after car move, than autolock or press brake auto lock or close door, engine start auto lock. It can be custom assign according to what u prefer.
5. tot water from exhaust comes out is good ! dunno...
6. when u open your back door, right smack in the center, u need to peel the small little conseal like carpet to see the bolt to release it down.

Happy riding.....

Hello all, recently found a problem, there is permanent stink smell in the car, no matter how long exposed under sunlight, putting in charcoal, still no effect, after all, i notice the following:
1. The smell came out from air cond, whenever rain, and after car wash, the smell is heavier
2. The front passenger floor have the heaviest smell
3, The floor mat at this area is wet underneath, when i press hard, can hear the water sound (as if pressing a wet towel)
4. I pull off the side door step at this area and found that this area ( the floor underneath the passenger seat) having plenty of water inside

Anyone having the same problem?

hi altis06, from your descriptions, sounds like your estima was part of the thousands of banjir car in Japan. Sounds logical to you?

you should get your estima provider to answer ! mind sharing where you bought your estima?

Ohh, this is a year 2000 Mfg car, very rare model i guess, because this car comes with traction control and VSC. Registered here in 2003 by my uncle, after sold to me till now, the mileage is 7+,+++km only. Extremely low mileage. I dunno did the odometer altered in year 2003 or not la.

The wet carpet problem has been rectified and repair. Basically this was due to the air-cond water drainage. The water was drain at the carpet instead of drained out from the hole at the floor board. The smell of old car still there but i leave it on, so far i have not vomit, then i will live with it. Otherwise, i will consider putting air freshner.

Overall, this is a very comfortable car, 3.0 V6 engine drinks petrol like water but with extreme low engine RPM on hig speed, even fully load with 6 adults. About 2k rpm at the speed of 100km/h. Very quiet engine also. Mechanically, there are rattling sound at the sliding door when going on uneven road. I guess thats common due to the door mechanism.

In my opinion, and also my enquiries from my relative who owned a 2006 3.5 estima, this old model is much worth and problem free.
