The jerking in Ford Focus at low speeds 0-30km/h, will it reduce considerably with time, or we need to get the software update in the service centre to eliminate the jerking? The acceleration is so powerful that the car jerks forward strongly when accelerating in the range of 0 to 30km/h.

Mileage is currently about 250km.

Does any current Focus owners experience this jerking at low speeds?

Any information or advice would be appreciated.

my FoFo jerking is reduced after mileage 2000km. But it is reduced, not totally gone. Some FoFo owners didn't face this problem after 2K KM. If ur FoFo jerking still persistence after 2k KM mileage, then go for software update.

Previously I pump Petron for my FoFo, I noticed jerking on slow speed.
but since I switch to Caltex, the jerking is almost gone unless i play with heavy pedal during traffic jam.
With BHP fuel, I notice jerking too but not as serious as Petron.

This is my own experience, maybe it's karut experience. Since own it for 9 months, I still try to learn the driving charaterisitic of my FoFo.

Thanks for the response. Truly appreciated. I am dying to get my Focus Titanium to pass 1000km mileage. So your Focus is still jerking after 2000km albeit reduced, and there are other Focus owners who don't experience a single bit of jerk after 2000km mileage, ie. completely gone. Interesting. I hope the jerking will be completely gone after 2000km. It's a sheer pleasure driving the Focus.

I always use Petronas for all my vehicles and do not go for other fuel. If the jerk still persist with Petronas fuel after 2,000km mileage, perhaps I wil try Caltex to see if it will help.

Cheers.

I have the same experience using Petron. It felt like the engine is under power, crying for more fuel but didn't help even when I'm heavy footing; this was on 95. Switching to Petron 97 giving me less grind and jerk, but having trouble accelerate to 120km/h.
Since I changed to Shell 95, noticeably less jerk, less grind. Yet to try Shell 97, maybe it will be completely gone!

So I managed to pump Shell97 and the result is disappointing. More grinding noise, difficult to accelerate. I'll go back to Shell95 after this.

Mileage now over 800km. Seems like jerking at low speeds is much reduced now. Great. If it can be eliminated completely once above 1,500km then I would be happy.

Interesting that the Focus is having worse acceleration with RON97 compared to RON95. Anyway I'm still using Petronas. Will switch to Caltex and BHP later and see if there is any difference with the type of petrols used.

The feeling of running on RON97 is like the petrol is too thick, the engine has difficulty digesting.

That is really strange. I can only suspect fuel contamination. Try RON 97 at other stations!
