I would like to ask how long the fully synthetic oil can last before I need to change it?

Some told me it can last 10,000KM.

Some said every 1 year and it depends on the brand.

I'm confused.

Whether mineral, semi or full synthetic oil, please follow your car manufacturer oil change interval..... smile_tongue.gif

Follow manufacturers' manual can sometime lead you to Holland. Every car manufecurers have had secret aggreement with engine oil companies to decide lubricant change interval.

Only good fully synthetic oil can last up to 10,000 km or 6 mths whichever earlier.

hmm im considering to change to Mobil1 5w30 on my Myvi 1.5, but doing so will void the warranty. I'm still two minds about it. Anyone done it before and have big improvements?

Fully synthetic oil can be changed every 15000km. My relative follow this interval for his bmw e46 2.5l and the
engine is very clean inside.
European car manufacturer recommends change every 25000km, but this leads to many cases of sludge
which damage the engines because of oil passage blockage.

Some mentioned if the car is used in EU country it is not as hot as here, so the engine oil probably can last longer there but not here. EU car here also have problems like plastic parts disintegrated, rubber parts harden and so on within a shorter period of time...

To me NA cars using FS oil is like a waste. Probably a 5w-30 SS can do the job too, as same viscosity.... smile_tongue.gif

Nonsense. Scania and Volvo truck maker say Mineral engine oil can last much longer than that in their turbo charged diesel engine. Even Lotus who designed the Proton CFE said it was designed to use Mineral engine oil at 10,000-km change interval.
