How much will the EV cost? it cost RM0.05/km.

Let do some simple maths.

I am travelling about 30,oookm per year (actually less than this figure)
Using Avanza of about RM0.16/km.

I save RM0.11/km.
1 year, I save = RM3,300.

Assume that I use 10 years for this car. (Most probably less than 10 years)

I save RM33,000 overall.

For a car about this size, I compare with Mirage which costs RM50k++.
Assume to be RM60K.

If this car is sold ar RM93,300. I save nothing (let compare alone with petrol saving, not others).

Let wait and see!

I heard it is gonna be RM130k ++. Don't think it will sell like hot cakes here.

It is announced to be RM136K.

It is supposed to help us save petrol and thus conserve the earth or squeeze our hard earn money? It is a toy for rick people. Base on my estimation, there is no way I can save petrol to cover for the price difference if compare against B-segment car, do not even mention Mirage.

Car for technology, Car for rich.

Frankly, It's quite a hefty price to pay for noble cause. The I-Miev launch report has got a lot of helpful details but then again, I am bit skeptical about the practicality.

And for that price, there are larger hybrids with better value for money.

Do you want a Prius or this one? No need to think unless you have too much money to buy for 3rd,4th, 5th.........car.

The Hybrid options for me are the Civic and Insight. Still trying to decide which one.

I was hoping that the I-miev would have been priced lower... but it's not the case.

And like u said earlier, it could well end up as a toy for rich people although the cause is noble. smile.gif

With a range of 150km, you wouldn't be able to drive to Seremban without fearing that you won't make it back.
