I share your view.

The engine cover covers the top of the engine (including the injectors) completely. I can't figure out how water can ingress into the top of the engine to soak/rust the injectors unless water defies gravity.

Do the injectoors not ad heater

jolokia,
Your link stated clearly what caused the corrosion on the 3rd and 4th injector is not really technical issue. Now watch the solution to the problem in my reply to netsoft.

Once Ford replace the existing drainage design, problem solved and no worry on rainwater. Existing owners could actually patch the drain and divert rainwater away easily. By then Ford will not be bogged down by this rainwater issue and concentrate on threatening your sales.

Shouln't u apologise to the fellow for accusing him been a infected rival to try to spoils Ford Ranger reputations ?
It is still a designs error so it's a technical issue, don't assumed technical issue only involved engine & gear box, as the whole vehicle work as one, this is 2012 letting buyer to solved the design error themselves is unacceptable, if it is in US surely a recall would be unavoidable.
If consumer start to find own solution to manufacturer defects, wouldn't it cause the warranty to void in case the solution doesn't worked or caused damage to other parts ? Diverting the drainage to else where would just bring the rust to other part ?
Since U claim urself been a consumer right liberalism fighter, shouldn't u campaign for manufacturer to come up with solutions & compensate their consumer for manufacturing defect ?
Now u seem like standing on rich capatalist manufacturer sides, against consumer right ? If it is US they would have their butt toasted by consumer watchdogs, I am sure u would do so if this is Nissan Navara or Frontier.
U better removed ur consumer right statement in ur future posting or u r nothings but a hypocrite.

Read again you buta huruf. My comment stated clearly, it didn't pinpoint any forumners who posted the rusty injector issue.

The Ranger's injectors are running fine. The water leakage actually slipped through from the the rubber seal that flow into the bonnet inner drain and drips in slowly rather than flow in a rush. That is not even technical related but the flaw of the drainage between the bonnet and front windscreen seal.

Technical issue means related to electrical/electronic and mechanical. Fyi, the old Ranger's engine is known to be tough enough to withstand excessive heat without getting engine blown yet able to drive to destination with radiator's gone. Compared to your crappy Frontier with hard clutch that has the overheating issue similar to your X-Trail, N16, and reported carry over same issue on the Navara. Your products overheating and engine blown issues are truly technical defect probably you bunch removed something from the engine that caused the overheating.

Yes, as part of consumer rights supporter, goods that are actually good will be defended. Stick to facts. Since Ranger's issue on the SC price (could be due to greed or hoax) and the drainage issue that is non-technical, so far the reliability/durability and practicality of the Ranger overall considered good.

You can get RM1k, that's it. I've asked a few SA and they all say the same thing. There is a 2 month waiting list for the 2.2 and they've stopped taking bookings on the 3.2 as the waiting period is more than a year.
