Strange, mitsubishi taiwan and china changed from mmc cvt to punch because the old one had to much cvt whining...
It's car related as well however, the inspira is a mitsubishi that is most probably better isolated.
The mmc uses a torque converter, old technique but nothing wrong with that. Just that it will not be used anymore in a couple of years because fuel economy is not good. We can calibrate a cvt to be more fuel efficient than a manual, with torque converter no way.
Also, i drive the bold every day and i can't say anything about the engine braking to be honest. Also this is quite subjective as i allready had customers that said it was dangerous for cornering as it doensn't have enough engine braking... So yeah figure that out? Is there a different drivestyle for malays and eg chinese people living here?
Technical explanation, if you dont use engine braking like the inspira, the fuel is driving the engine around, if you couple the wheels to the engine to brake as we do, the wheels drive the engine and you can stop injecting fuel, so off throttle means no fuel consumption loss...
Thanks

One more question the saga testcar you drove was this the 1.3 or 1.6?
Thanks

Offcoarse its stored in our computers memory. Keep in mind though that after 20 restarts of the engine without the fault code appearing it will be gone as it will be considered a one off, or solved problem.
Good luck!

1.3.
If one is aggressive may be this cvt characteristic suits him well,as got the always-engage feel. But I practice defensive driving,so prioritizes on relax & loose cruising.
No point debating on the cvt noise. If you think it's fine then so be it, I am not even an owner. In fact hard for me to become an owner as wife strong objection to new Proton is "noisy engine, no good".She doesn't even want to test drive Preve due to this

is it normal having "switch-shock" or "Jerking" when car moving at low-speed ? e.g. moving at <=20km/h in traffic congested road.

Most probably what you feel is the powertrain moving in its mounting tilting from forward to reverse and back.
