As some of you know I work for punch powertrain, the Belgian company that delivers CVT units to proton.
I am very interested what your feedback is on driveability of our CVT for the different models.
feedback can be (examples!):
It feels to lazy in D but L mode is OK
Or
I don't get why u use the SAT mode, it's rubbish
Or
I like it al lot, it's comfortable low rmp and quite in D and sporty in SAT
...
Thanks!
Please keep in mind that all feedback is used for further improvement of our product and the calibration of the different modes D,L,S,SAT,...

In my opinion, it wold be better if there's a button to activate/deactivate the hill hold control or retune the sensitivity to be "lesser".

Sorry to hear, this is known issue; this is however proton's button, not our CVT

you own a saga 1.3?
For hill hold... simple explanation, if you apply 1 to 2% throttle or short time more throttle it will stop engine braking autmaticly.

Please be more specific? you mean full throttle?
Maximum torque of the engine can be at 4000rpm but does not mean your will accelerate faster when you are at 4000, max acceleration is still at almost max rpm!

just want to ask is there any speed cut to protect VT2 and VT3... recently one of my fren kcng saying that speed cut is around 5k rpm. Is that true? As i look at VT3 spec, it's stated Pmax is around 6000rpm.

Yes, I own a Saga 1.3
Sorry, there's slight misunderstanding here. I dont have issues with the SAT button. What I'm trying to say is that I find it that it is quite easy to trigger the CVT to enter into safe mode (warning indicator light turned on).
This happens when I am rolling downhill and I leave the throttle open slightly (engine rpm is around 2,000rpm). I encountered this four times and most of the time I am forced to park my car on the emergency lane and turn off the engine for a while before restarting it back in order for me to continue my journey. The hill hold control is too sensitive that even on a short downwards slope, it starts to do engine braking, which is quite irritating for me.
I did try apply a bit more throttle to stop the engine braking and all I get is some weird noises and some lurching and then the CVT light turns on and the whole car is in safe mode.

That is offcoarse not normal operation mode. Did you visit service center to check your fault code? There is no use of keeping driving like this. Ik you let it check PM me with the dealer and time so I can follow up? This is a non ABS car? We know about issue where the wheelspeedsensors of the car send wrong signals to our transmission possibly causing this.
thanks!
to your service!

No limit equals engine max speed, don't worry. Only reverse engine speed is limited.

everytime when the CVT indicator light is on, there will be fault code appear for service center to refer?
