TSi engines are power packed. Don't know much about local service and reliability. Absolutely love the Pasat CC,too rich my blood lah!

it has its own set of issues. 1.2 tsi turbo actuator issues from brand new - in some cases, entire turbo needs replacing, 1.4 tsi burning a lot of engine oil (1L in 5000km or less??! - number varies but there are some extreme cases).

scout around the forums and see for yourself.

Could be that our fuel does not meet engine specs. I believe SD is unable to provide technical support & service to turbo deisels. Look at the complaints on the present TDCI. SD does not have clue to solve service problems! I won't be surprised if Ford Uk took this stand!

It better they don't bring it to Bloehland. Look at the 308t,such a wonderful car,the engine won European design award few years ago. Our monkeys have no clue to service it, so many problems. You'll find so many 308t at the 2nd hand market, all around one year old. The owners have had enough going to the SC several times for the same problem.

bro, any specific issue/problem on tdci engine? i was told it is very robust- tahan lasak and reliable?

308t... i have been reading their forum, very sad the same issue repeated on almost all their car.

308t - french engineering. sad but true they have the reputation of unreliability sad.gif though their cars are nice. but peugeot has recently embarked on a huge quality drive, so give them some time to improve.

btw, i don't think the ecooost engines that ford makes cannot be used here because of fuel quality. i remember ford saying ecoboost is tuned to run on all fuels around the world. they took great pains to do this. however, i don't remember them saying the same for the tdci engines.

The problem is with local distributor, not French engineering! French engineering is not unreliable, it the failure to maintain in accordance with prescribed procedures! Public has given chance, time and whatever you want to call it! There is no sign of improvement.

Don't worry, if no diesel, the petrol 2.0 variant Focus 2012 is very good. Even better because it shares most components with S-Max and Mondeo which means less worry on spare part. If wanted to sell more, can give 1.6L engine that is fitted in Fiesta. Focus MkIII:
1.6L Duratec Ti-VCT (EFI/MPI)
125ps/92kW@6300rpm
159Nm@4000rpm

2.0 L Ti-VCT I4 (GDI)
170ps/125kW@6600rpm
202Nm@4450rpm

My comment is very impressive engine tech and 6ATgearbox. Only thing I dislike about the new Focus is the curve of the headlamp at inner part near grill, should have sharp edge like MkII facelifted Focus which is very nice. Also the bumper lower grille looks awkward a bit. Else, I would give it 100% score. Should have follow Fiesta front style a bit. If 2.0L Focus is priced at RM112k, then the 1.6L should be near RM100k.

Yeah agree with you here. The front somehow does not look that nice. The rear is a beauty.

Latest news is Ford going to start producing Focus in Thailand soon. More to follow suite. Good thing is, they can manufacture parts there in bulk and reduce spare part price to Japanese parts level or even lower coz it's made in Thailand with lower shipping cost.

Additional info to share with you, an item brought in from overseas is taxed according to the price per unit + shipping/transportation cost. If a part is brought in from Europe, shipping cost is higher and then that part will be taxed even higher.

Probably Ford can spread this info and Fiesta will get more buyers since it's made in Thailand. Same goes to coming soon Ford Ranger. This will prevent competitors from creating false rumours that Ford spare part expensive forever. Any Ford fans and owners wanted to comment? Fiesta owners can check part price sold by spare part supply chain to know the actual price. Not the markup price sold by SC.

Euro 5 currently and 6 is coming for overseas. Euro 2M any difference from diesel offers in overseas ? What does M stand for ? If I am not wrong, M stands for modified whereby some elements in the Euro 2 has been omitted. This makes our Euro 2M not the original Euro 2 anymore that's why the M affix.
