number 1

rear drum brake judder,
has any of the blm fl or flx encountered this problem.
probable caused is, drum slightly out of shape.
evidence is due to repeated scratchy sound during braking, and some repeated pulse on the pedal while braking,
anybody changed the drum? for this matter.,,

and number 2

i quote

" Clunk sound from CVT
I just bought my 2010 3.5SR March 13th and from day one I've noticed upon starting the car and backing from my parking space then shifting to drive it will make a clunk, sometimes a twang sound when first starting out. I'd venture to say this isnt normal. I'm not pushing the pedal down hard at all, but I've begun to think maybe I'm not pushing it down enough, but theres no need to open it up in the parking lot to avoid this happening.

Has anyone else noticed something like this or should I take it back for service?

Thanks"

"New guy here... first post. I've had my 2010 2.5 SL for just a week now, and I have that same clunk/click sound. Happens within the first 100 feet of driving, and then never occurs again that day - even after the car sits all day at work. Next morning - there it is again. Perhaps it's something turning on? Not sure.

When it first happened I thought I had run something over. After reading the above posts, I guess this is normal."

i paste it from somewher its a forum and i forgot to find out what car that was but they are using cvt transmission,,, so fot the same case, i heard the flx cvt having the same thing , any one can confirm this.?

The drum issue if not mistaken was 1st happened when 1st batch roll out. The main cause is the rear drum actually jammed. However u wont notice when u are driving as its not holding the drum all that strong.

so there there are spot where it drag that makes tik tik tik at the same spot. so drum need to be skimmed for a perfect round or just be replaced .? the more we press the brake it ticks louder.

seemed that the drum already having thermal fatigue and deformed.

what will the SC do to solve this,

If it is the drum, i would replace it.

It is hard for a drum to deform, however under severe temperature the brake shoe might fail and break free from its steel body causing all sort of sound in the drum.

it occurs during when he brake really warmed up, no sound at cold.
but anyway i will proceed to the SC to sort this out,

Me fuel about yours... Notice, 6 bars, each bar will take 60 km... Still, what I don't like, looks like the meter bar is too high... I mean, already register no bar while oil still about 10 liter in the tank...

Another thing... Does ur flx. When accelerate gives vibration sound between gear 2 and 3? During initial acceleration? No sound, then sound... Then no sound... Zreeeet...like metal vibration? Not the cvt sound right?

fl or flx braking not so good....very wodden in feel.....and very hard to modulate.....
i was adviced to change the brake fluid to dot 4 type.....
so last week i bought a Bosch brake fluid and Kings brake pads at rm170 all....
after installig it was ALOT BETTER......the brake pedal wasnt as stif and abit more adjustable....alot nicer to brake

i was tempted to get the Pro RS steel braided brake hose bt i was affraid it will end up even more stiff in feel....so for the moment its not on my list !

so all in all its worth it......

Yep... Brake bit hard... Bosch ok? Bantex got brake pad for saga?

one thing i noticed if i drive in a normal maner , FC is very good...full tank can got to around 400km...bt if u do few 'hot' runs on highways or apply some 'strong' acceleration...the Fc drops dramatically....u wil be lucky if u can go 300km..thrs alot of diference of FC between the two difrent driving mode....

Huy guys,

I am kristof, work for punch powertrain (cvt supplier for proton saga flx flx se exora, and the new car sold soon).
You can adress all cvt questions to me, as i consider end customers to be highly important.

Kristof.verpoorten@punchpowertrain.com

Don't hesitate.

Questions i saw:
Sound when engage D, not normal, not cvt unless you feel a firm shock when engaging, when not probably mounting.
