Most of FS will gave you smoother and quieter ride but you need to know is this recommended by your SC before applying. In the first place do you travel long distance frequently or speeding frequently? If either is yes then any FS will good for your car.

Every engine oil came with different fomula and one say good the other may say no. Follow you heart and try it your self...

Just my dua Cent...

Hi ,

I have try before the Mobile Fully Synthetic 5W50 to my Gamma Cvvt engine. It will increase your car's fuel consumption and feel sluggish after mileage reach 7k. I bought it from Mobil Mart so assumed it is not fake Engine oil.

Better stick to Petronas Syntium 3000 5W30 which is lighter and give excellent fuel consumption plus keeps the engine camshaft look brand new without any yellow stain even mileage reach almost 100k. Engine running like brand new without any noise.. Even i use this engine oil for 13K mileage once, the oil quality remains good. But i change the engine oil for 10k once.

Hi,
Thanks so much for your kind explanation. I noticed that Syntium 3000 in the market (5W 40) is different from the one that NAZA Kia Forte uses (5W 30). What are the pros n cons in using 5W40 vs 5W30?

5W30 is recommend by Kia and also stated in our instruction Book. 5W is oil viscocity. 40 & 30 is just Temperature rating. I feel safe using Engine oil with rating 5W30 that recommend by Kia for our tropical weather. I can feel my Engine still in Brand new condition all thought the mileage reach almost 100K with 10K mileage engine oil replacement with RON95 petrol.

i nvr using 5W40 for me Spectra5. But did use in my new Saga Flx 1.6 with 5W40 Syntium 3000. Nothing much different in term of performance. i assume both is same. But Proton advice not using 5W30 for campro engine due to too thin. i donnu hw true is this statement from Proton SC.

5W30 is abit expensive Rm223 if not mistaken while 5W40 is RM213.

cost factor was precisely my motivation to source for cheaper FS oil as 1 day I noticed that Tesco was selling Mobil FS 5W50 for only RM150... as compared to >RM200-ish i'm paying for each service.
the thing is, I can't find a similar 5W30 in the market, and it's total monopoly by petronas in tying this with Kia... not sure whether it's for marketing strategy or is 5W30 is an optimized solution for Forte?

I am also facing the same thing because each service cost me almost RM300 for 10K. seldom use the car to avoid frequent oil change. using Atos for work.

But i did found similar Engine oil Petronas Syntium 800 5W30. it is Semi Synthetic price only RM103 for 4litre which can use for 7K or 8k oil change interval. i nvr use for my Spectra5, but use for my old Atos. Same performance as Syntium 3000, but only thing cannot use till 10K mileage.

If use that, it may cheaper. But my advise is go for mart to purchase any engine oil since alot of fake Engine oil in market.

Mostly good Fully Synthetic Engine oil is expensive. Total Engine oil 5W30 also available, but still pricing abt Rm2++

Tesco brand fully Synthetic Engine oil even more cheaper abt Rm88 for 4 litre, but donnu the perfomance n quality.

Scared to use cheap engine which may cost bomb in the End.
