Geo-fence Gps Tracker, What Is Your Opinion?

hi guys, what do you think of a gps traker with geo-fence , means once the vehicle over the fence you set, the gps traker will be send alarm.

Geofence is a predefined boundary or area you set in the GPS so that when your vehicle crosses that boundary, it will trigger an alarm. Geofencing is more suited to prevent your vehicles from leaving your compound, for example. Let's say you have a truck or bulldozer being used for construction or development work in a particular zone. During work, that vehicle would be moving around in that zone, so you wouldn't want a GPS without geofencing because the GPS system will alert you that the vehicle is moving. That vehicle should be moving around because it is being used for work.

However, if the vehicle leaves the working zone, the system with a geofence will send an alarm, alerting you of a possibility that your vehicle has been stolen and being driven out of the zone.

There is also another type of GPS which works as an immobilizer. Used in Fleet Trucks transporting high valued goods such as Cash, Petrol, etc.

If the Vehicle deviates from its predeterined route, an alarm will ring alerting the driver. If the driver does not detour back to its predetermined route, the immobilizer will shut down the engine. Read that it worked when some crooks highjacked a Security Van carrying cash in Cheras.

Van stopped dead in the middle of the road, less than 1km from where it was highjacked and press reported some onboard copmputer detecting a change in route.
