hahaha 2nd hand value sucks!
what to do... i was thinking the same except.. after 4-5 years when want to trade in, then will find out the actual 2nd hand value, u'd be surprised sometimes you may end up losing up to Rm15k when compared to popular brands..

even have to beg the 2nd hand dealer to buy your car... since now more stringent rules for car ownership transfer, 2nd hand dealers wouldnt want to keep slow moving cars in their stock,

if you have a max 3 years financing then is shouldnt be a a big problem...
unless you have 5 or 7 or even worse 9 yrs loan... then it indeed sucks big time!

so it depends on your financial - short term loan with big deposit maybe 30% or 40%. then you can take some risk by buying less popular car so that you can be "poyo".

if you are less financially capable, with 10% deposit and 90% - 9 yrs loan - then better take popular brands with good 2nd hand value, available spare parts, CKD and a lot of workshop all over the country.

prepared for a 15k - 20k depreciation per yr for it, should be the exact resale value for korean cars.

How's the situation with 2nd hand spare parts? Half cuts? non-OEM etc? For me, that's important.

I prefers to use my head than follow the crowd. After all, it is my money and not theirs.

agreed, now I think the new modern car unlike previous older cars, that come with so many electronic parts - use 5 - 6 yrs and change car look like a better bet since 2nd value is there there for a 5-6 yrs old cars b4 all the problems start to come!
just my 2 cts.

no matter wat car, 1st few year(1-5) depreciation will be dam high...
kimchi or sushi car is all depend on owner perspective, if he/she really like that car, he will take it even he know he will get resale issue later.... normally those kimchi n conti owner alr prepare themself before doing the decision.

some of my frenz who drive conti (pug 308, 3008, srirocco) told me, "apa bole buat, sudah tagih same conti, kalo lu pkai conti, u dah tak mao sushi..." 059.gif 059.gif

Another thing is that, we dont know how is the automotive market for next 5 year... Can anyone confirm that kimchi will get poor resale value after next 5 year?? If someone can tell me next 5 year kimchi car(sonata YF, tucson, avante, forte) resale still bad as current, i really wan to pray for this "DATO", mao minta nombor 4D alr...

just my noobie opinion

The dealership where I got my Kia Sorento was a lot of help. I was able to figure out what I really need in a car. When we finally realized I needed a mini-SUV, they helped me choose the Sorento. I got help determining what features I desired and saved a little bit of money with a package. If you go to http://cardealexpert...12-Kia-Sorento/, you are able to find a car lot like they. They are very useful.

Hey Guys,

I am planning to get the used 2007 Kia Sorento Novus Edition. The price range is really cheap and some say it is a pretty good vehicle.

After checking on some forums online, understand there people complaning the car is hopeless and etc. The complain seems to be same and I am not sure if the problems are rectified in 2007 model.

Please share your real experiences with the car especially those who have bought the used 2007 Sorento recently. What should I be looking for when purchasing a used Sorento to avoid future problem. General maintenance is fine and understandable but gearbox/transfer case or engine breakdown is bad.

Anyone who has had breakdown in those parts, please also share your experience.

Thanks guys
