My colleague and I have tried his Altis 1.8E dual VVT, in heavy city traffic with bumper to bumper crawl could achieve 11.5km/L which is very good. In normal city traffic, it could achieve 12-13km/L. Compared to Sylphy 2.0, the result is 9km/L and could go down to 8.8km/L in similar heavy city traffic.
However, there are several forumners over N brand thread that kept claiming that their Sylphy could get 12-14km/L in heavy city traffic and better than 16-20km/L in highway that seems exaggerated. Also, some of them are even claiming that their X-Gear and Lavina 1.6L without VVT yet tuned to generate 150Nm@4400rpm with vehicle weight of 1160kg + 4AT gearbox could achieve 15km/L easily beating the lighter Vios 1.5 with VVT.
What do you guys think? False gimmick or else?

i think what they claiming is just way too over... .kinda hard to believe.....
Anyway my Altis 2.0v can go roughly 12.5km/litter in City.... if go highway with full load is roughly 13.5-14.5km/litter

aiya! when you drive altis whose knew your driving behaviour gentle or hard? maybe gentle even when bumper to bumper. While you driving Sylphy due to you dislike Nissan then you press harder as possible. Some more are you driving with same person, on same road, same condition (100%), same stop and run, same weather and etc.. even if you put on a machine it's may not get 100% accurate...
When you dislike something so much... you will go around to comment and stepping...
please continue to bullshit around with your factless and proofless comments. record down your so call testing in video to share in AW.. maybe edit your video like you mentionted that few thick you told AW forummer..
LOL!!! better run away fast-fast.. before kena..

Just take it easy and if no good, sell it off and if good keep it for many years.....like what I had done > sold off my Datsun 120Y within 2 years and have been keeping my Mazda Familia and Astina for 20 years

Nokia,
Since you and your marketing team claimed that your products Sylphy, Teana, X-Gear and Lavina could get >13km/L easily in heavy city traffic without even VVT, then aren't you supposed to share elsewhere if it is true?
If it is not, then do you think it is fair to cheat/con buyers into buying your product that believed your false super FC saving? So far other brands did not even pull such crazy claim that is too way off the accurate claim.

Hi 0300078 & khlee23,
Thanks for the reply. The Altis supposed to win award for best FC in class but the Sylphy won instead with the false FC claim.

Hi profkaizen,
Long time no reply with you over AW. Still listen to great old songs? My favorite.
Reason why I posted their superbly exaggerated FC claims here is to let others justify. The way they spread news of impossible FC claim is really a dirty trick that is equivalent to conman trying to cheat victims into buying it. There are those who would go for FC saving car and would fall victim to their false claims.
In the US and EU, there are consumer protection claim that automotive manufacturers are not allowed to post FC reading that is far away from actual by certain percentage. Else, they'll get into trouble.
Their claim vs actual in city traffic as what they claimed on articles and news:
Sylphy claim 16km/L vs reality 9.0-9.3km/L
X-Gear/Lavina 1.6 no VVT claim 15km/L vs reality 9km/L
now even Teana 2.0 & 2.5 claim 13km/L vs reality 2.0 gets 9km/L whereas 2.5L gets 7-8km/L.
Other manufacturers would just take average city traffic the most, eg. in reality could achieve 9km/L, their claim will post most is 10-11km/L.

Hi Jayraptor,
Yeah ,long time we didn't discuss things [or crossing swords ] in this AW platform. How are you getting on.
This time round, I am also listening to new songs or latest songs rendered in Slow Rock [慢摇 Man Yao] of course I won't easily abandon those calssics of yesteryears...I am still an old man mah...
Yeah, I agree with you that misrepresentation is the greatest commercial crime. I hate that, and I vow never to buy any more of the products produced by the companies that cheat

True, true, Prof. This thing should not arise at the very first place but it all over the place. Altis 1.8 with Dual VVTi is truly fuel saver not unlike some.......sigh just plain.....
