My car battery died on me this morning. Fortunately it was at my office & the VW Road Assistance helpline was superb. After reporting my breakdown, got a call 5 minutes later from the road assist technician which was already on its way to my place.

Jump started my car but since I was quite busy & can't drive my car to the nearest SC, the technician arranged their truck carrier to tow my car. I was told all VW tow trucks are carrier type & not those 2 wheeler tow trucks. I request them to sent back to Veemer in OKR which I bought & serviced my car there. Everything was done without hassle & frustration...from the operator to the technician. I even received a courtesy call an hour later by the same operator to check if everything was ok. Kudos to VW Road Assistance - Top Notch! smile_thumbup.gif smile_thumbup.gif smile_thumbup.gif
Now my car is at Veemer SC having its battery replaced & check thoroughly.

I think VW really score some browny points from me today since I'm quite a hard to please person with a very short fuse for temper. smile_big.gif

Hmmm...on a more technical point to note...would like to let u guys know that our PCC battery tends to kaput after a year. This was what the technician told me cos he has much experience jump starting PCC cars which was often slightly more than a year old which mine was exactly 13 mths old too. smile_blackeye.gif He told me PCC was a real battery drainer which I tend to agree too. So, for all the PCC users out there...pls remember to check on you battery after a year.

i think it has to do with all the elec parts as well as the lighting. it could have uses the batt for say home coming and leaving home light.

my previosu MB CLK also have this function. but Merc using the engine heat to convert to power for the elec parts and lighting.

just my guess

Well, my 2 cents are as follows:

1) C-class - the facelifted one with 7 speed gearbox has been much improved, but it still isn't a performance car unless C250 or above...

2) PCC - well the price just went up by 30k and is now officially OVERpriced at RM270k, good car nonetheless (I am driving one), a real comfort cruiser with power whenever you want it.

3) Audi A4 - agree with Mikhai, only the 2.0T is good, but unfortunately those Euromobil smart-alecks prices it at RM310k.

4) 3 series - the new model F30 just launched, this car has been overwriting everything in its category since the last few models .... even the outgoing E90 has been class leading so far after 5 years....

so if you can wait for another 6 months or so ... might as well be this car, the one and only .... BMW 3 Series: smile_cool.gif

Hi, I am a Passat B6 owner here.

I have tested PCC 4-5 mths ago when I went with a friend who was in a hunt between C-class and PCC. This friend of mine ended up increase his budget to go for E250! Coz C250 7 spd was not available then.

From my point of view, F30 is still in unknown land and once launch in Malaysia, the first year you will expect a lot of problem with the car. Just like what the F10 5 series owners are facing now, suspension sound, engine sudden death are the 2 main issues.

So, if you can't wait till 2013 for a stable F30, then you will have to choose between the remaining choice.

Actually if I am to choose, I will go for C250 instead. Bump up the financing a bit more, and you will be rewarded with a very nice car. Although I am a VW owner, but I always admire a RWD car. It's much more stable on high speed (after 180kph) than a FWD car.

A4 is good, the 2.0 T 4WD version. But the tradeoff is that you will inevitably suffer from slightly higher fuel consumption because there are a lot more moving parts to move the car. And the driving is less spirited to be honest, too much safety control so less play. That's why A4/A5 RS always lose to M3 in comparo (in megazine).

If there was no price increase of RM30k on PCC, PCC will be a clear winner. Now.......probably not coz C250 is only a little bit more but will reward you with a very good steering feel, better handling due to RWD, probably more comfortable and lastly, STRONG second value.

Actually in 2 yrs time when it's my time to change the current car (Passat B6), I am aiming either C250 or F30 turbo 328 biggrin.gif

Looks decent but I still think the current generation PCC looks sharper, more aggressive while maintaining an overall sexy appeal.

That being said I like the rearend of the new PCC. Judging by the parts used it maybe possible to swap the rear lights and bumper on the current PCC to achieve the same look. It will void warranty though. Oh yeah and the DRL, they should have included in the last facelift, damn!

My batt kaput after 12 months. Replaced under warranty from FA Auto. Pleasant experience fm road assist. Pcc real batt drainer. When batt weak, signs include windows not drawing up fully after doors are closed and temporary rear camera not available. Batt retired within a week. So beware of these signs.

Bro, do you know what is the battery size? How much is it?

Century just introduce their new battery Ultramax, 21 months warranty, that will benefit us.
