Hi, all sifus! I just joined and need you all opinion and assistant that i intend to buy suv
but seems Kia Sorento 2011 is more luxury and comfort than Santa Fe, Captiva and even
Japanese suv.

I wonder how 's the petrol consumption, quality of spare parts and quality of service delivery?

If you can wait alittle longer - the latest new Santa Fe with it modern design - diesel engine (hopefully) will be worth your patience. I am waiting!!! with close to 200hp and 500nm - if diesel model, it's power is going to make its wheel spinning!

Take a look at it - http://forum.autowor...p;#entry1758957

Thank you for your reply br1! What do think about Toyota Harrrier? Cuz friend around me said Any Korean cars no resale value n lousy quality. Even certain spare parts also difficult to find. Japanese car looks nicer but features not as attractive as Korean car. It is really crack my head!

In fact I like Chevrolet Equinox but they won't launch in Malaysia.

Ask only those that use Korean car, not those "expert" that never use before.
Before buying my current ride, which is a Kia Sorento, I asked a total of 6 friends/colleague/neighbour that drive Sephia, Ria & Stavic. The overall comment was generally positive.
As the world 4th largest car producer (Hyundai-Kia), you cannot just label its cars as crap / lousy quality just because you don't own / drives one of them.

My mechanic told me he got lots business from repairing Korean cars like Matrix etc. And also mentioned parts are expensive and not so easy to find.

I prefers to use my head than follow the crowd. After all, it is my money and not theirs.

Yes, there are korean cars few generation ago, they have lots of problem, including complaint about fuel drinker, and I must say your mechanic is right.

But with the launch of the Sonata 2006, everything start to change, with the new engine, and the improve quality, and now with the new sonata 2010, Kia Sorento, Kia Sportage, this new generation of Hyundai/Kia had improve tremendously, and even their fuel efficiency is either on par to better than their Japan competitors.

So, we need to move on, sometimes mechanic and old kia hyundai buyers still stick to their impression of bad kia / hyundai car, but that a old facts and history.

The only thing the korean can change in this country is the resale value. Which no one sure what's gonna happen to the new sonata or kia sportage o sorento.

But, If you know Fortuner is infact an Asean Car compared to Sorento which is sell internationally, you know the different of the quality. On another note, check out the fortuner crash test, i believe we know who's the winner in terms of safety.

I have 3 korean cars and people keep asking why I like it so much. I think because value for money especially 2nd 2005/2006 sometime you can get it below 20k.damn cheap even to compare with perodua and proton.

earlier model they might have some issue on parts availability and plastic parts easily broken/brittle, now they have improve and become a global brand, I think hyundai now no 4 car manufacturer.

the above link is Korando C, sold here as Actyon..it is Top mini Suv in australia and parts of europe. selling here at 138K and got 10k discount somemore. The handling, system, safety, power, eonomy even exceed crv,x-trail,rush..to name a few.!

yup..The only problem here is the resale value.

And they have a few more diesel model which can't bring here because of our low quality diesel smile_tongue.gif like the sorento, santa fe,forte,picanto....diesel.
