Actually the S Max's length without the tow bar is only 4,768. Although it is only marginally shorter than the Estima, the back door slopes down at a wide angle, hence the cabin space is much reduced.

The Estima should be compared to Ford Galaxy, not S Max as S Max is a 5 + 2, not a full sized MPV.

Those looking for a sedan should consider S Max as it drives very much like a sedan, with 2 extra seats if you need them. You'd be amazed how well it drives.

If you compare prices of the S-Max and the 5008 overseas, you will realise that both are priced very competitively in Malaysia vis their prices outside Malaysia.

I have tested the C4 Picasso (in 2.0 NA guise), the Peugeot 5008, the Mazda 8 and the Ford S-Max. The S-Max wins hands-down.

I did not test the Estima as I do not want a grey import.

also on survey for a roomy and comfortable mpv.
tested m8, 5008, estima, alphard, exora, and now s-max.

s-max offers better fuel consumption and pickup.
unfortunately, 3rd row seat is quite tight and roof is low.

think it is more suited as SUV.
