my Rondo hits 110kkm already, I am using 10w30 FS oil lubrimaxx from Australia, I am on 2nd bottle. Awesome performance with cheap price, worth every single cent.

I've also changed my coolant, brake oil and steering oil during 100kkm service.

Rondo, I think the best car that I've ever owned. If you ask me, what's your next car? Proudly and loudly say our : Kia, probably Sportage or Sorento.

I change my power steering fluid and radiator coolant every 40k km. Brake fluid every 60k km.

Currently at 97k km and counting. No issues with the car whatsoever.

yup.. i did that last year.. 5 person with luggage.. B4 that i am driving 1.6cc car.. a 2.0 Rondo is really powerful on hill climbing using tiptronic.. It is just like driving back a manual car.. The only different that i felt on 2.0 & 1.6cc car is during hill climbing.. Normal road condition not much different..

Bro Sugen,

I actually vote other wise despite our ride actually has a tiptronic, which you can use to maximize the torque while 'attacking' the road.. Have driven to Genting no less than 10 times on mine..at least 3 times a year ;-) Gets you there safely but I must say it is one damn big piece of metal to lug up to the hill top. Haha! How I wish this has a 2.4l or even a diesel engine!

Switch to tiptronic and take your time when making up and down the slope. For me the safety of passengers in the car is the most important. Looking back at those trips I made, our Rondo is still as smooth and quiet in all aspects!

Yes, there is a command problem on Rondo air con compressor's bearing. Many Rondo have this problem. If you are still under warranty, they will claim a brand new compressor for you. For me, i pay RM 200 to change the internal bearing..

What are the symptoms of air con compressor problems ?
Lately, my Rondo's air con (passenger side) is not cold anymore, the driver's side is ok.
So, it's like left side blower warm air & right side cold air.

1. About ball bearing crack in air cond compressor => air cond is still available, the only thing you will notice is the BELT NOISE. After you have started the engine, the noise as though the belt rubbing the pulley sound although air cond was not on. It is still bearable if you turn on the air cond because the air cond noise may shield up the belt noise a little.

2. Passenger side warm aire => this has been the same issue even after I get the MPV the first day. You need to turn the air cond temperature control dial until almost like "9:30am" position and lower before the air can become cold to the passenger side.

OK, so my Rondo have the first symptom already, that belting noise. Will drop by SC to ask to check air cond compressor. Since my warranty is over hopefully the bill not so high. I remember someone quote replacing Rondo new compressor around RM1300. Or maybe can just replace the bearing like what bro Sugen did. BTW my air cond so far is tip top.

Yeah.. KIA JNS Penang provide the service of "open up" your air cond compressor and change the internal bearing.. The bearing itself is not expensive..Include gas everything almost RM 400..As, Gas need to draw out from compressor. Compressor oil.. + service..

Yes, air cond gas is never an issue throughout the episode of the air cond compressor ball bearing crack. There is no reduction in air conditioning efficiency because it is not about gas leak, it is just about the turning ball bearing is not smooth because of the crack in bearing ball, causing belt vibration and resulted in the air cond compressor vibration during engine in operation even stationary.

Update:

Went to SC and check, confirm is internal bearing in a/c compressor is cracked. SC replace with new bearing and the result walaa no more 'diesel' engine sound when starting up my Rondo. Is like new engine sound and on top of that FC significantly improved as well.

Damage:

Bearing: RM 120
Gas: RM60
Lubricant?: RM38
Labour: RM60

Thank u guys for pointing this out.

Cheers.
