Hi

I am in need of some Optra non-service parts and accessories such as side strip mouldings, radiator, radiator hoses and side window visors. Checked with B** but they don't have them. Anyone know where I can get them at reasonable prices? Please don't say C******* as their prices are not reasonable at all. TQVM

Bro ahtap,
Is it advisable to get an Optra 5 ? Are the parts expensive to replace ? How reliable is this car ? Heard the ZF GB is not reliable like the Aisin GB found in 1.6 ? Thanks.

Hi bro..

You got it wrongly. The ZF gearbox on 1.8 is more reliable than Korean Aisin. The only probs with Optra 5 is the bodyparts. Payah sikit nk dapat and halfcut pun tk byk. If Optra Sedan up to Magnum model.. easy to find. This is because Thailand tk import Optra 5. They dont sell that model. Optra 5 is coming 100% from Korea.

Parts wise.. +- sama aje dgn Waja.

Handling.. sorry to say but it beats almost every cars on its class i.e. Honda civic, Toyota Altis, Hyundai Elantra etc. Same class means same category of sedan can and price not much diff. Cant compare with Continental i.e Ford, Peugeot ets coz tak sama kasta.

Bro ahtap,
Thanks for your reply. How about its engine reliability ? Was told that the aircon unit is very expensive to replace as one has to buy the original one from GM ? Cheers.

Aircond unit is about the same price with other imported car. What makes it expensive because of volume and demand. As recommended, most of the parts need to use back the original. But, there are also other OEM parts that can be substituted depending on its reliability. We are still in the progress of searching alternative for original parts but only use those OEM that quality wise more or less the same as original.

Hi bro. I am not a sparepart supplier but I am one of the commitee members for Chevy Club Malaysia. Throughout the years, I am handling the task to seek for alternative supplier for chevy parts local and abroad. I ve been dealing with supplier from Thailand, Korea, Singapore etc. We purchase using the club's name and most of the time in large purchase in order to save transportation cost.

Most of the chevy members know me very well either by name or personally.
