After a heavy downfall, does your white car shows any sign of dirt streaks? Handles? Badges? Even though you have detailed the car? Polished and waxed?

having a white car sine new, i would say yes to all your questions. but through maintenance wash even APC at those trouble spots to flush the dirt out, polishing (AIO) and duragloss sealant, it has become less and less. until now, 8 months later, can leave the car unwashed for 2-3 weeks and streaks will not appear or appear less and can easily be washed away. this is with heavy downpour or light rain just enough to dirty the car, within the time it wasnt washed.

Mine is quite extreme. I just detailed my car last 2 weeks and the car is kept in an enclosed environment. Didn't really expose to rain till yesterday whereby there was a heavy downfall. Was at the club for 1 1/2 hour whereby the car was left in the open under the downfall. After that, can see dirt streaks on certain part of the body. Had to wash the car almost immediately. However, can see that the MG M16 Wax that I applied last 2 weeks is starting to deteriorate.

White oh white... why are you so hard to maintain??? smile_tongue.gif

Dirt streaks are normal and you'd have to live with it. I don't think it's really due to the rain, but due to the dust/dirt/contaminant accumulated BEFORE the rain. The rain just washed them down and, most of the time, some managed to be retained on the surface. Its further accentuated by the fact that the beading and sheeting effects of the wax/protection acts like a gutter concentrating and directing the flow of water. So you'd get discernible 'lines' as oppose to 'uniform spread' on unwax/unprotected car.

But, that is not to worry (unless you're really anal about the look). What's more important is how easy (or difficult) they are to be washed off.

wax on white car, i have seen, tends to pick up and stick dirt easier and faster. more so for certain type of wax. M16 is one of them. i have 2 tubs of this m16.

now i use sealant exclusively for my white car...

but once in a while i put on wax. dont know why but syiok feeling when waxing a car and seeing a newly waxed car.

Yes I have that problem on my white cefiro. Mainly its on the front bonnet and its seems to be an oily substance which eats through sealants and waxes after you wash away the black streak with regular car wash the line no longer beads. Now testing with OC2.0. Seems promising. I just missed the rain yesterday, so got no chance to test. Where is the rain when you need it. hahahaha smile_big.gif

I don't know why but I've tested the M16 vs DG 105 before, ie wax vs sealant. To me, M16 lasted longer than the DG105. Weird but that's my findings.

Perhaps, I need to repeat the research smile_tongue.gif

M16 vs DG105, my findings are also the same. Beading seems to last longer (not to mention nicer smile_thumbup.gif ) with M16 but it just retained comparatively too much dirt after rain and the stain is much harder to wash off. Anyway, I would not categorize M16 as a 'wax' per se, in a sense that it is more like a sealant in a paste form, much like NXT Paste Wax or Ultimate Paste Wax.

Yes, looks wise, i feel M16 is nicer, warmer glow and lasting(water beading) longer.

as krismas says, it is not a pure wax. it is a hybrid wax/sealant. which thru the same account what i think Dodo Juice Hybrid Wax is. but that's another matter altogether.

the main reason why i stop using it for my white car is the enhanced ability to pick up dirt and streaks especially after rain.

I find that DG105 is not the best beader but its stain resistance is quite good. I notice if you just use DG105 and don't top it off with QD, DG Aquawax or anything else, the stain resistance is the best. It is the "topper" which gets stained when then affects the DG105 below.

So for my White cefiro I just use straight DG105 and wash the car. After every wash I don't QD or anything else as what ever you put on top will get stained easily.

So I just recommend DG105 straight and car wash. When the beading starts to wear away just add more DG105. Simple.

Keeping my fingers crossed with OC2.0, so far fresh stains are easily washed away, same with bugs which is consistent with what many people has reported on the net. Best thing is no need to QD or maintain after wash.
