Your total mileage is 600km? 6.5l/100km is considered very good for city drive :-)

my mileage is now ~1100km.
when i got the car from Ford, my initial mileage is 8 or 9km/l, the more i have driven the FC keep on dropping to ~6.5km/l. I stay in Penang so may be the jam is not as serious as in KL?

Recently I have a huge jam aftter came out from petrol station, when the meter newly reset, the mileage shown 9-10km/l.

I guess best mileage in City driving, should go to hybrid Prius. They are designed for this situation.

For HW best mileage, should aim for hybrid or diesel. However, hybrid do not have the torque which we enjoy in our Focus.

The Focus is also best handling and torque in among of the two wheel drive. I used to drive Impreza, an Evo also cannot fight with the Subarus 4WD system with low COG. Only Focud with the rear control blade multilink suspension able to navigate and control like the blue/yellow Impreza.

I guess the M3 (mazda) also control brade rear suspension.

It depends on each individual priority, for me is fuel consumption and fun to drive. For the same price, many will choose Civic or other Japanese cars. My previous car was Civic, it is not to say the car is bad in handling or what. Just Ford Focus came with so many offers and I can keep my money for investment and it does meet my 2 minimum requirements. I have loaned maximum for 5 years, I have dumped all the money into investment now, I guess with no brain investment like FD also beat the loan interest which is 0.88%. I have attached my FC for you guys reference, I did get 5.6-5.8L / 100km after 1150km in City drive.

I just drive like normal. Try to keep the RPM < 2k if possible, maintain constant speed as long as the tracfic allow to do so. However, I did notice when you come to a stop, try to release the fuel pedal and let the engine help up in braking the car will help in FC number.

I reset the FC meter after I pump the new fuel, I used 3 times Sxxxx Diesel so far. I have not tried with other brand. May be Penang is not as jam as KL?

7.8L/100km can consider good already, My Civic used to get 8.6L/100km for RON95 and 8.3L/100km for RON97. Only in highway I managed to get 6.25L/100km.

Better do not promote so much, later too many Focus on the road, my Focus will loss the uniqueness.

true. lesson to all buyers, never take the FC figures in the catalogue seriously :-)

hi velvet, u got ur car last oct ? and u only did 10+km ? lols..!! biggrin.gif eh wanna sell ur car ? i think my friend wanna get one! lols...
well i got my car May 2011 smile.gif for my 1st 10km was doing 8- 8.5l/100km am at 15km now its reading 7.4 after a long distance trip. as from other tdci owners the fc drop kicks in even more when u clock 30km. it states it the ur manual book u need some mileage to be able to be running at claimed figures.

i am a city driver myself too. i've been getting 650+ per tank now biggrin.gif FYI after i passed 5km mileage i was happily flooring ard town and got 400km per tank! so in the end it also depends on ur right foot! smile.gif and it beats prius and insight at mileage and going green! biggrin.gif

ha ha ha....i love this car la bro. Now finally i can keep up or even compete with my brother's A4 1.8T :-) my mileage is now 8.5l/100km but is still cheaper than my old car (Iswara 1.3 A/B).

with the free maintenance package, I don't see why i should go for 320d. In fact, if i sell this car, I would probably go for another diesel!
