Hello tire sifu here,

I am planning to try Hankook tires may be the Evo12 for my 205/55/16.

I found out price for the Evo 12 and V8 about same RM325/pc.
Can i assume the Evo12 should be better than V8?

Is there a big difference between Evo12 compared to the older V8 in terms of grip and noice?

TQ.

Have not actually tried those tyres, but V12 Evo is newer technology and new pattern, said to be better and improved.
V12 also traction rating AA. Please check V8RS ones..... smile_tongue.gif

i just bought 4 tires Ventus V2 205/55/16 at RM260 per pc incl balancing and allignemnet.
My prev tires Falken ZE 912 ran over 26000km over 3 years and is 75% botak. I think this Falken really cant tahan compared to by previous NCT3 can really last long, i mean the thread on the tires.

But problem with this V2 Hankook is it requires so much pressure to look adequate.

My cefiro car recommended pressure 34psi, and V2 requires 45psi for front tires, to look adequate.

Even with 45 psi for front tires, it still looks underinflated abit compared to rear tires with only 34psi.

the tire itself says max is 51psi, am i at risk of tire rupture? i was thinking to inflate abit more to 48psi for the front tires.

anybody can advise?

Are you sure you need so much air pressure? Even if sidewall is soft, cannot be so soft. At 40psi, we already using in the track for some tyres. If your rears requires only 34psi, Front at 38psi should be enough....

just wonder if other tires require that 45psi high of pressure. anybody driving at this pressure for front tires?

at the tire shop, they increased the pressure from 34 psi to 40psi for the front tires.

but me after few days decided to add abit trying to raise the tire sides up straight to match the rear tires look, first i pumped to 42 then 44 and today 45 psi. Trouble is it still appears not quite the same like rear tires.

I cant believe it, why it still looks like alittle underinflated still........Dont understand the logic, is it possible that 45 psi, or 42 or even 40psi is going to be the same????

may be i have to go back to the tire shop and check......

Check the year make or just could be a comfort tyre thus haveing soft sidewall which may look underinflated.

When u drive, does it feel more roll compare to the falkens?

Cannot be that soft. Even if soft with 45psi it should be hard...... smile_wink.gif
