nope, it'll take more than 4L to fill the oil reservoir... I was watching them during the servicing and it was approx 4.2 - .3L..

maybe they didn't empty the oil reservoir fully before refilling?

actually, at Glenmarie, they kept checking the dip stick and then topping up so I'm pretty sure it'll need a bit more than 4L

adrwoon > yours is 2.4 so it should be different from our 2.0l.

I am very sure 4l is enough for 2.0l. By the way, we must remember any indication between middle to "max" on dipstick is actually enough. Not even necessary to touch "max" on the indicator. My previous ride I always make sure the oil does not touch the "max" as engine will feel heavy. Thats y i say 4l is more than enough for 2.0 sonata. Up to you guys. . .

huh~~which mean bloody okr sc con me lar..@#$%^!
so my coming 15k km should try auth branch in puchong..at less they din't charge 6% service tax..heard that behind hyundai showroom (beside IOI mall) got 1 sc open soon..anybody know open already?

the labour cost RM90 i feel very high..or is it a standard price?

I think rm90 standard for okr and glenmarie. Thats y i try out auth branch, and realise its much cheaper for normal service. And also faster too coz not much car. But for major service, its better to go okr or glen coz they are more well equip and have vast experience to solve any issues that u may have.

If I can recall, Honda also gave 2 free servive similar to hyundai -lah..but the 1000km, Honda do nothing! They dun change the oil & filter 7 that's why 100% free haha

Trijuta, the 6% service tax is a must for labour cost. Since mine is 1st service, there is no labour & so no 6%...

Yes-lah. 2 free service similar to Honda except, they recommend you to change the engine oil at 1000km. At Honda, the 1st 1000km they only check & tighten up all screws & nuts.. Thus 100% free..haha

Yup first 2 services are free, there are vouchers in your service book- they will tear one off every service.

I service my 2.0 at OKR, always insist to top up 1 liter. Last week did my 15k service but notice the 1L still has 80% full???? I guess some bro here are right 4L is sufficient. Labor charge is RM90/hr, how much at Puchong? I do fully synthetic, so I don't have to go back so often- very 'sian' waiting at SC...

Overall maintenance cost for Sonata is reasonable, I used to drive cefiro and confirm Tan Chong is more expensive. Even my mom City cost around RM160 for normal service with Honda, just using normal oil and change filter.

Any bro here service at Jln 222, PJ? Please comment.

I also service at Bandar Puteri Branch, and they tried to sell me the additional 'cleaning agent'. Costs RM70. When I didnt want it, they said you need something to fill up that balance 0.1 Liter, as one pack of HX7 is only 4L. So I pandai pandai purchased another 4L bottle of HX7 there. Thought I can use long term la instead of paying RM70 everytime.

Now reading this, makes me feel dumb. If 4L is already enough, then i should not have bought extra. Cheh! smile_blush.gif

actually what does the owner manual say is the recommended amount of engine oil for the 2.0? I'm guessing that can't be wrong?
