Here's our review of the 1.8 CVT model: Proton Inspira 1.8E (CVT) - Tough Choice

When I test drove Inspira 1.8E CVT, I floored about 2/3 of the throttle, leaving maybe 1/3 from
complete full stroke. Engine speed stayed at 2500 RPM fixed while speedometer climbed slowly
from 60km/h to 100km/h. IThere was no such feeling my back was pushed against the driver seat
(i.e. acceleration was slow and weak) while the speedometer climbed slowly. Thus it felt not responsive
in terms of torque.

At 110km/h, engine speed stayed at about ~2200 RPM which is good for economy and low noise low strain to engine.

However, when moving from stand-still, the torque is ok = i.e. the urge to propel forward was good.

Question : Are CVT gearboxes behaving exactly the same way there was almost no strong urge to propel forward
from mid speed ~50km/h to 100 km/h ? Or maybe I should really floor the throttle until full before the feeling
of acceleration rush can be felt ?

Once you are in the highest gear i.e in this case 6, I would expect the CVT or any Auto not to shift down unless you floor it.
The proper way would be to at least shift down manually to 3-4 i.e not be in overdrive and then accelerate.

I have a 2.0 inspira, used for one year now. I dont understand how you can press 2/3 pedal yet engine rev remains 2500 rpm? I'm not sure if 1.8 and 2.0 has that much difference though.

As for my experience, I can control acceleration the way i wanted with this car. I can overtake cars on highway running at 100kmh in a split second(picking up speed from 100kmh to overtaking). The acceleration is great and it wouldnt stay at 2.5k rpm only. If running constant speed, 100kmh is 2k rpm, while pressing harder, i can push engine rev to 3.5 ~ 4k rpm easily. But of courses, inspira's engine noise is noisy for myself(at high rev). Felt like cheap car really.
