Launched in Malaysia late last year, the Lancer Sportback is a five-door hatchback variant of the popular Lancer range. It is powered by a 2.4-litre four-cylinder MIVEC engine, which has class leading 170 PS of power and 226 Nm of torque. The 16-valve DOHC engine is paired to an advanced INVECS-II Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), which blends sportiness, efficiency and comfort.

slow car don't need Active Stability Control (ASC)
Lets say you are driving at a "slow" speed of 80km/h at a "safe" distance and its raining heavily and suddenly the car in front applies its brakes.
You can brake hard (you have ABS) but if you can't stop in time because you are too close, you have to avoid, if you have no ESP chances are your car will spin out of control.
If everyone thinks like you then don't need seat belts, air-bags, ABS etc, why do you need any of these if you are driving a "slow" car?
Twenty years ago got no such right, then again how many cars were on the road twenty years ago.
There is no such thing as "don't need" when it comes to car safety.
By 2012 all new cars in Malaysia are now expected to have at least one air-bag while in Australia from this year all cars must have ESP aka VSC, ASC etc.
