I have the coolant sensor with me but never change it yet, the last time it happen about 6 weeks ago. I always let check light disappear before start the engine, and set aircond at least 20.

I did not have to restart the engine, it comes and go on its own. Aircon and temperature gauge return back to normal. Must hunt this issue down, though it is not causing much trouble.

Before the sensor change... it will intermittently happen when its raining heavily and driving fast on highway... now no more in the same exact conditions... so sensor does fix it up to a point.

My workshop confirmed that I have not replaced my coolant sensor, how could I remember wrongly. The boss also confirm chances of loose connection is unlikely because the catch locked the sensor together.

Could it be inadequate grounding? In my case I had ground wire added coollant sensor changed but still get the problem. Only disappear after I change the VFC. Maybe the loud roar of the engine caused by the old jammed VFC woke up the hantu!

after changing the sensor, my observation is after running for about 15minutes with a/c, the temperature increases until a point (almost hit half marker) where ECU shut it down to 0. after slow driving for few minutes with a/c off, the temperature meter is ON again but this time the meter lower than where it was earlier. haiyaa.. i assume it relates to engine temperature or got hantu inside.. still need to test more by using better coolant.

Can it be thermostat issues ? I presume this may be another wear and tear item which requires to be replace after its shelf life.
Need to consult our technical sifus on this to shed some light for us. If simple to replace then can group buy again.
Cheers.

Check it out with panel workshop the next time you visit there. If there is time, I wanted to check mine too.

Is your normal temperature nearer the half mark or the quarter at idle with aircon on? If nearer the quarter mark and engine roar when pickup then need new VFC
