Rexton II oversea model has VGT Turbo and it is from Garret too. So it may suit our Rexton I but the map will need to be tuned to suit that.

Installed a new turbo of the same type as original. A Garrett. To rebuilt 1k plus and no warrranty. Had bad experience with rebuilt turbos for heavy equipment and trucks. Better buy new and comes with new wastegate. Got special price from my regular heavy equipment parts supplier. Below 2k only. Tried to get the Vgt type but not available. Power good enought now but still a tiny bit of lag sometimes. Will try to change the remaining vacuum hoses and if necessary the vacuum modulators. May need another turbo soon as the one on my RexII also leaking oil and has a loud whining noise when I accelerate but less lag still compare to Rex even with original vacuum hoses.

More likely lose more money on spares and then got to buy new turbo as old one damage during DIY. Believe not easy to DIY and even the specialist also often fail to do a good job. More a gamble to repair whether DIY or otherwise.
BTW the new turbo make the old Rex young again. Very lively responsive and better pickup and power. Money well spent.

Hi Bro,
You should send your turbo back to TurboOne, they are the Garrett Supplier in our local here. FYI, to rebuild the turbo, you need the special machine to balance the turbine wheel, they charge more then 1k, but the compression is just like new.
If you can find the service kits, for sure i can replace it for you, but without balancing, i did my own servicing last few month before i replace new turbo, nothing so special on the mechanism.

Thanks Bro. Which end is suppose to go to the vacuum modulator? The longer blue end?
Hi Bro,
The longer end is for the modulator side..because you need the U-turn

Hi Bro,
Many of you still guessing here and there about the turbo leaking issue, actually the oil is leak from the Oil Seperator passed from Air filter suction hose. pls check your oil saperator condition.
I don't feel much power improve after changed the new turbo...should try to service the turbo before you replace the new turbo...sometime it is just too much carbon bulid up on the waste gate.
