Hi all, I've just bought a brand new 150 Elegan, last week. So far no starting probs. But i normally just twist the throttle 1-2x and hit the starter button. Bike starts up with no hassle.
I used to own a Naza Gemilang scooter. I believe that maintenance is the key here, and not to over abuse your ride as well.
Cheers
Congrats on the BN Elegan 150, hope you enjoy your new toy. The problem of 2004 Elegan 150 or like my 2004 Sym Joyride 200, yeah after 7 years the starter switch or the brake press in switch could be dust or dirt accumulation over the years or could be oxidisation or wear n tear. If best dismantle and do some cleaning up and fix it back up and good to go.
Just my 2 cents worth of advice, as i did on my 2004 Gilera VXR200-same concept lah......cheers

Thanks Mdjjz. 2 cents advice taken note
But i have to say, the Maxxis tires suck big time. Gonna have them changed to Michelin City Grip. Read about the tires, i think should be good, RM3++ for both front and back.
1st service coming up soo, wonder what kind of engine oil you guys are using, and what would be the best recommendation?

Use semi-synthetic good enough, anyway oil change interval at every 3000km, I prefer Pirellis as am using them good dry and wet grip handling characteristics.....cheers and ride safe

Hi guys, I went over from SGP to Parit Sulong - Simpang Lima - Parit Kelantan on May 1st and 2nd 2011, haha, did not spot any Elegan 150 or 200 around, only saw 2 old scooters a Honda 50cc JAX970 and a Suzuki 100cc, seems no one rides any Elegan here....cheers

Hi, could be a few factors, oil pressure sensor faulty, insufficient oil pressure, low engine oil capacity just to name a few, best check it out with the mechanic....cheers

The always on light is to remind you to service the bike every 1000Km.
It will trigger every 1000km.
Press both buttons, to switch off the light.

Hi,
I also facing this problem. Could not get my elegan to start at all.. This is really frustrating. Try kick start/Electric start until my battery "kong" still could not get it started.
Really need all sifu's advise and help regarding this problem..what should we do, what should we checked?
Anyhow, did dismantle my Elegan and finally found out the root cause of the problem. The ignition coil was malfunction. Replace a new ignition coil, and 1 kick, start the motor.....
at the same time, found out also the Carburetor was not the original Elegant carb, suspect from other motor. But will leave with it 1st. Will change to elegan original carb when have time.
next plan for this bike is to replace/service the clucth plate and belt assembly. even need to look into the CVVt

Since I owned the Elegan I have change the headgasket and water pump twice due to overheating. Other things except for a low speed take off jerks are fine. Watch your cooling system, take a look at the radiator not reservoir for any water evaporation.
