I thought you have remapped? My stock condition already tested till 180kmh. hehehee

You are right, the tyre need to have speed rating to withstand 190kmh.

I think he must test drive bro byebye2U's rexton n compare the remap.

Remapping helps in reducing turbo-lag. My ride is rather heavy because of the sound-proofing/autofoam and hi-fi/amplifiers etc. But I have people commenting that my ride feels solid and fast during long-distance journey (KL-Penang), esp first-timers sitting on a Korean suv. The last time I got to 170kmh was when my wife reminded me to slow down because I was speeding (but I was not aware I was speeding).

I have been using Yokohama tires for the last 4 years but I think they aren't made for very high-speed. Good for cornering but not high-speed.

Will try to be back by end of this month. Btw my fastest speed is 170kmh. I have been using Yokohama tires (RM350 each) and I think it's not very safe to exceed 180kmh using them.

as long as it is "H" speed rating, should be safe up to 210km/h for 10 minute.

the guy that do your remap still around?? there are more than 50 types of software/hardware/parameter in rexton ECU that can be tweak. yes, turbo lag is the most concern, so I set mine to shut wastegate on low rpm, increase turbo to 2.2 bar, advance timing, faster throttle response ( but I set at 25% faster only, scared my wife would ram the car in front during jam) , increase diesel pressure and volume at low rpm, tighten the gearbox grip up to 29%...etc. I'm using open pot k&n , so the air gushing sound very loud..hihihi, stainless steel turbo piping, removal of exhaust catalist . absorber only OEM but with rubber damper and bendix brake pad for better stopping .

hey guys, our bro here remap 6 years oledi and still okay smile_thumbup.gif

You're very good. I am sorry that I might not be as technical. You see, I kinda got the remapped ECU the turnabout way. The guy was in-charge of Competitive Supreme's aircon section (when they were still in Section 13 PJ) 6 years' back. He told me that CS was in fact testing remapped ECU for the Rexton and asked me whether I wanted to test. I said sure, but wanted to know what's the process and how reliable it was? He took out the original ECU located below the glove compartment and installed another ECU for me. Cost me RM2000 6 years ago. He gave me a trial period of 1 month before I finally paid him. So the guy said it was a bargain because he gave me another Rexton ECU. I am not sure how much the Rexton ECU would cost but the fact is I am still have another spare ECU in the house.

please keep the ECU, it is a bargain. occasionally on previous model ( the musso, korando ) the ECU can burn-out. he must have given you the up-graded ECU...maybe that come with 64 bit instead of current 32 bit. ECU remap now done through OBD-II port under the steering column.
