Rexton 270xdi Cooling Fan Viscous Coupling

Rexton II is so much more refined and comfortable than Rexton I. Can feel the comfortable but yet solid suspension. Much quieter, better sound proofing and door insulation. The drive and acceleration is so much more smoother and quiet.

Just found that suspecting Bro BK4tf's ATF Oil may not be using the right grade and it is less than minimum level. Surprisingly that the car has been under SC care for all servicing and did major service at 40k mileage. SC can't be using the wrong grade of ATF Oil or don't have the right tool to measure the ATF Oil level, right?

I was in Ipoh 2day with Brosr3xt0n & rx270xdi which he come all the way fr K.L bringing the vacuum tube I require smile_thumbup.gif as all r rexton freak,v don't do nothing 2 my rexton so what v hv done is:-
1)change the complete clutch fan 2 Merc 9 blades.
2)clean the entire EGR system.
3)change the vaccum rubber hose tube.
So,this is the review of after changing with my own test drive fr 1 change 2 another.
1)after changing the clutch fan,I did a spin of the fan,yes it spin more freely than my ori rexton fan(bro rx270xdi pointed out that my clutch is leaking)so the best way 2 know the result is 2 test drive my own self,here it goes,a lighter feel & willing 2 go is the answer.
2+3)even better respond without much thottle lag as b4.
after dinner with this 2 bros,I drive home 2 Bukit Mertajam,what I can describe is sensational driving xperience,all the way in 5th gear,didnt even shifted 2 4th gear in the Ipoh K.kansar hilly hwy,my car when drive in this hwy nomally will b in 3rd, 4th,dn hill 5th,this already prove that my car run better than b4,this is only my few hrs of drive xperience which may not b 100% true,a further rview will b follow if any new find.

Bro I am sure you now agree that the fan clutch recon at RM230 is worth every sen and every Rexy should have it done. Like a mini remap for both power and economy. That is why your car always in 5th gear even uphill.
Do keep us posted re temp in city driving etc
Bro Nik if you want to re-remap for added power and economy just change the fan clutch. Otherwise many bro soon overtake you man. Hehehe the cheapest remap for Rexy

maybe later bro r3xt0n will share some of the photo.

I change the engine mounting..both koyak...no..not rosak..really koyak/tear.

I change also the transmission mounting...the rubber become shorter already..hahahaha....on the way to ipoh was doing 190km/h from taiping with koyak mounting , when reach notice oil on the rear window.after checking found leak from ATF oil pan ( 2nd time already ) , must be the extra vibrating when speeding with broken mounting and the pan also not tightly screw.

after complete. tested..no power...!!.no turbo. when changing the engine mounting, need to jack-up the engine, turbo hose disconnected when lifting the engine..so all bro, make sure check the turbo hose after changing engine mounting.

coming back to my home town just do 140 only, a bit low on ATF, don't have a dipstick to check ( where sifu teerex haaah ).

the gear change now much much smoother, no jerking 1st to 2nd.( if you guys notice a jerk when gear change, then check the mounting).

I checked Bro ByeBye2U's Coupling Fan Clutch is much more free as compared to the rest of ours. Forgotten to test 5 turn free revolve as suggested by the article posted by Bro Teerex. I think the slight load release from Fan Clutch may not be noticeable on a Remap Rexton, he has much more power than needed as compared with ours.

Bro Nik did you also change your fan clutch? Maybe your ori fan and clutch is working too hard and adding to the vibration and making your ATF oil pan leak.

If I know you are free on Sat, would have called you down. Can also change both Upper Arm and Lower Arm Bush at the same time too.

I will be changing my Engine Mounting, Transmission Mounting, Lower Arm Bushs & Rear Absorber Damper too tomorrow, so will upload the photo together.

Bro r3xt0n your new engine and gearbox mountings should now last longer as your new fan clutch being lazy and light will cause less vibration and stress to them. Do brainwash our remap bro to say bye-bye to his ori fan clutch and put in a MB fan clutch. Then he can reach top speed of 200 ma hehehe

Bro rx270xdi,
I did drive the car after changing the clutch fan as I mentioned it's lighter n more willing to go offcouse may b due 2 the cold temp of the engine which the clutch is not fully engage not as b4 upon engine start the fan clutch is already engage,hence....
as 4 the customize tubing I belive it give a better thottle repond,the kick is instant without any thottle lag as I always complain.l

Im just wanted to find out whether is my Vemo VFC so mush difference from the Original MB VFC, if yes! i might just Throw my Vemo away and replace the secondhand ori MB VFC. Hahaha Since everyone of you felt so much differnce from the stock VFC.
