I don't know Mr Fernandez personally, but I can tell you he's not part of the motoring media fraternity. cfa is right, if you seriously think we motoring media are part of a large conspiracy to cover up the truth, send your proof to someone who has a proven track record of being impartial.

Though I won't be holding my breath in anticipation... tongue.gif

Cruze's engine running by timing belt not timing chain? walao replacement interval is 100000km? can tahan that long bor?

Tis is as wat the technician said. 100K km to change timing belt.
Engine with timing belt is really quiet.
The Display unit on dashboard hold numerous control on Cruze;
Radio / car alarm security / cabin light, etc.
One hv to get used to the turning indicator as Cruze is conti car.
Even the headlamp switch is fitted on right hand dashboard.
Wat I can say is the quality of the material used is good but
the workmanship is so so. I will be sending my car to fix the
rattling sound inside frt pax seat. Dashboard air cond vent
cannot b closed completely. Tat is upsetting me. smile_angry.gif

Overall the Cruze is a good buy. No doubt abt it...

Jay, please send your proof to The Sun - Down 2 Earth - Terence Fernandez @ terence@thesundaily.com.

Terence Fernandez is a Journalist of high intergrity and has refused bribes from many shaddy characthers and having faced numerous death threats. I think he would be interested to expose this 'fraud' by the automotive company besides carrying out his own independent investigations.

Hi cfa and gunner,

I know just which parties to send to and they'll keep even better watch. smile_big.gif

Hi chevy,

Thanks for the adequate FC details. You may check with Australians' Holden Cruze owners forums to get more information on maintenance. Australia's condition is just as rough especially their summer is very hot at day and cold at night like desert. The reason why they use timing belt is for more quiet ride and to earn extra from service, following Lexus footsteps.

Your given figure on FC. All R mixed driving.
422km / 43.57 lit = 9.68 km/L
434 km / 44.92 itt = 9.66 km/L
473 km / 45.94 lit = 10.3 km/L

443 km / 42.16 lit = 10.5 km/L
395 km / 43.78 lit = 9.02 km/L
445 km / 44.87 lit = 9.91 km/L
411 km / 41.08 lit = 10 km/L

This is just similar to Sylphy in reality. Not bad for car that big and heavy. Dual VVT + VIS + 5speed gearbox does improve FC better. Unlike cheater who posted only false FC claims.

http://www.caradvice.com.au/
car review website from down under, whatever cars that they have there is more likely to have them here. We get their Camry, Accord, Civic, Altis, etc..

Hi krk24,
The Cruze really feel sturdy n nice n heavy. Congra on your ride.

You can select the reading via the left stick.
If not mistaken, press the square menu button n chose your prefer.
They only displaying km/L n no L/km.
The dynamic reading shld b the instant calculate of fuel usage.

Pls check if your wheel alignment ok. Heard many complaint on this issue.

Check n monitor your front seats if they sound. smile_sad.gif

Does the reading change every time you stepped on the accelerator?
Or it changes when you reset the reading?
Usually it does not change much unless rapid acceleration or
reading reset by long press at tip of left stick.

I have addded car mat to red coil mat cost RM120 for 5 pcs set on top of the original.
No mod so far but thinking of sticking 'graphite' sticker on B-pillar. Cause always left
oily finger print on it.
I m abt to reach 4 mths with 10K run.

10km/L not so good and not so bad.
20% worst than average at 1400kg.
still maintain OPTRA FC.
