... the signal stalk is now back on the right side, which is where it should be in a right-hand drive vehicle.

Fully agree! Only the brits like theirs on the left - apparently gives them a more conti feel woh! Ergonomic noobs rolleyes.gif

But honestly, if I am happy to change gears myself, I most certainly can operate the lights and wipers on my own too.

Love the subtle dig at them skinny-legged auto drivers. smile_big.gif

The usual rattlings that we associate with Protons are pleasantly absent as well.

That's coz it's a Lancer! Wait til putng have well and truly messed up the car with their 'local content', then we can judge the NVH... I mean, shit, if a simple thing like screwing on a shift knob oso can screw up, the more they deviate from the original, the further down the drain it's gonna get.

............. Badrulhisham said Proton would also introduce an enhanced version for the Inspira with additional accessories including skirting, bigger sports rims and neater interior.

"We may offer a limited edition for Proton Inspira," he said.

He said that based on feedbacks, the majority of users preferred the 2.0cc Inspira as compared to the 1.8cc model and this was unexpected. .......................

I thought the Hyundai i30 was pretty good. It had a surprisingly well-sorted out suspension setup and is definitely better compared to the Forte.

The Peugeot 308 has a good ride and handling balance too, but only in VTi guise. The more expensive Turbo has a harsher ride thanks to its lower profile tyres.

Comfort-wise, the cars that excel in this segment still belong to the Japanese, and in my books the Nissan Sylphy and Toyota Corolla tops in that respect.

Bro Kon,
Thanks for your feedback. What about Civic and Accord in comparison to the handling of the Inspira ?

Hmm... The Accord and Inspira are not directly comparable, but I will say that the Accord is impressively agile, more so when you consider its size. Amongst D-segment competitors that I've sampled, the Accord still trumps in terms of handling against all except the Ford Mondeo, which is in a class of its own... but unfortunately let down by a poor powertrain. The surprising thing about the Accord is that I find the 2.0 actually more satisfying to drive than the 2.4.

The Civic's pretty decent too, it didn't become the class benchmark for nothing. It has good handling characteristics, and decent levels of comfort. When I had the 2.0S test car last year, it was shod with Michelin Pilot Preceda tyres, which had excellent dry grip, but was completely out of depth in the wet. One thing about the Civic is that it's quite noisy inside, even compared with the Inspira.
