I just bought a new battery in Phuket for less than RM500 (110DIN)!

Also local workshop can do roof lining for RM600, and do an excellent job!
If you are not living life on the edge.....you are taking up way too much space ;-)

Looking at an XC90 2.5 to purchase. Have taken into consideration advise given from previous postings in this thread.

XDazzler...your feedback is highly informative and much appreciated.

How's your XC90 doing these days?

Out of curiousity, how far can you go on a full tank of fuel in: city driving (typical start/stop conditions) vs highway/long distance travel?

Thank you kindly for replying to my queries above smile_thumbup.gif

a full tank is rm110. for city/mixed 12 to 12.5l/100km. hway maybe 10 to 10.5l/100km. not good but considering the weight its not 2 bad. depends on how often u demand the turbo to work 2.

that's right. my S60R are with average of 14.5 to 15L/km with you play alots with turbo kicking...so for 12 -12.5L/km for XC90 are consider very good as a 7 seaters SUV that are with more that 2 tones kerb weigh.

Hi, the mileage now shows 150k or 38k more from the date l bought it i.e 15months ago.
Fulltank around RM110;
for town driving in my case will give around 450 - 500km (jam pack area i.e jln tun razak, jln ampang & jln jelatek).
for highway driving; if you drive around 100 - 110km/hr, the computer will show that fulltank will give you 750 - 800km but in reality (base on driving 110 - 120km/hr) it will give you around 500 - 600km with the oil indicator still showing above the redline and computer show another 150km can still be driven.
I normally fill-up the oil once the indicator shows this.

Additional info.
The tyre size 235/65/17, I am using Michellin Latitude XGreen tyres and it about to be change next month.
SM quoted RM875/pc ; A friend of mine can get RM578/pc in Subang; another friend quoted RM600/pc inclusive labour and balancing in Batu Pahat, Johor !!!

My XC90 just hit a block of metal somewhere in the middle of the NS plus highway while driving at 140km/hr created a big dent underbody. SM quoted RM8,700.00 to replace it !.....lucky it not safety hazard if i not changing it.

Issues.
If l made complete turning (imagine doing U turn), my car tyre seem slipping with a "dug, dug sound" ....imagine of the tyre
rubber kept slipping away from the rim!!.... is it normal? Someone suggest that the steering bushing already worn-out that make the streering turn more then it should be? Is anybody experience it? and how much the bushing cost?

All in all....XC90 is one good looking car and the most practical 7seaters SUV in the market....best buy to me......if l am rich, l will buy XC60 for my wife (l think XC60 is abit feminine).

Used to be Dazzler registered Sept 2000...But due to system haywire....have to re-register

think you problem of "dug, dug..dug " sound are due to worm tie rod..

send your car to workshop to checking, you can refer to below link for the clear picture of the tie rod location..

Hi Xdazzler,

Just curious, how much have you spent since owning the car including servicing and replacing of parts ?

That will give me an idea if its worthwhile getting one. Thanks
