Test drive available now at all Honda showrooms nationwide...

Test drove this afternoon and I went away impressed with the kits that are included in a 98K fully imported honda. Something that Insight has but even Accord doesn't have such as auto lights and auto rain sensing wipers are all standard on the Insight. Not to mention VSA is included with auto aircon thrown in.

The test route in Puchong reveals it's softly sprung yet going through rough surface can be unsettling. It groans a bit when pressed hard but the "trees" in the MFD encourage you to drive sedately to make the most use of fuel available. At the junction auto start stop system engages itself with a slight noticeable jerk but did not reveal any discomfort to the passengers.

I would say this is the most value for money honda since a long time coming, not to mention the inclusion of cruise control and a proper seat belt for the rear middle seat that even civic and accord lack of. The passenger room is certainly a better place compared to City, but still loses out to the plushier Civic. City at 90K seems to be a bad value relatively.

a review from another forum
http://forum.lowyat....ic/1753913/ 260

a short review, done a comprehensive test drive in puchong today, served by a good salesperson, and able to have a test drive as i'm there before lunch time, nobody is there yet.

Interior QUality: Good, better than city, as it has all the bell and whistle like full auto aircon, a lot of display and trip computer, a floating speedometer(color changing),headlight leveling. Dark color tone, with flawless fitting, VSA, cruise control, a long list and features not even in accord 2.4 . auto wiper and headlamp.

Safety: Flawless, with long list of features that is not even on 2.4 accord, but too bad 2 airbags only, i remember it should be 4, but i might be expecting too much. (or honda need to make a little profit too )

Speed: to be frank, due to 4 person in the car, the car feels like myvi, no i cant feel the 200nm torque no matter how hard i stepped and even after disable the econ mode, nope, its not a fast car. i guess partly due to CVT gearbox also. I can only say, its better than myvi, but not better than city/vios. Power still need to burn fuel.

Drive: Nimble and light steering( previous gen City is better weighted), and handles well in the corner ( though my passenger was shocked by the way i drive), its all under control and feels confident.

Cabin feel : front seat feels airy, but rear seat is very very tight. Its worse than vios, city, myvi. For a 170cm person to sit nicely in front, the person 170 cm at back risk the knee touching the front passenger seat. middle seat is not for adult, only for very small kid, as it will block the rear view totally. But not many car's middle seat can seat ppl anyway. One problem is no cup holder/armrest at rear. Expecting that.

Boot space: I can only say, its a hatchback, and the space is better than myvi, but, worse than 308, ford focus. Pls dont compare to sedan, lol. BUt they give a trunk cover, which is good.

FC: well, its at least 20km/l, but, are you willing to sacrifice space ( rear and boot) & Fun ( SPeed=fun) for FC? if you do, then, this is perfect.

Verdict: if you have a small family, or you're tired of vios/city, go buy this car.

THis will not replace city or vios due to space, and the good FC is contributed by smaller engine and battery. Less power, less fun

But i think with VIos/city advantages(cabin size and boot), insight cannot grab too many sales from this.

Its perfect for city driving, and asking for fun and speed is not justice

i think the look and the tax free part is convincing enough for most to place the booking.

Worry: Battery & CVT.

no flaming pls, above are just my opinion

Toyota may have the technology but in terms of design I would love to drive a hybrid Honda Civic! It looks more sporty compared to the conventional styling of the prius.

Honda insight 1.3 = 100k (price date 12/06/2010)
Honda civic 1.5 = 120k (price date 17/07/2012)
Toyota prius c 1.5 = 97k (price date 20/02/2012)
Hybrid car is still too expensive! For me, is better to put the $ to buy more petrol for petrol system car..
