talking about battery, what happens when the battery is flat? Im curious since when my wife's 206 battery is flat, the speedometer / rpm goes berserk whenever i tried to start the car.

The speedometer and fuel gauge all goes anti clockwise kan? The engine dies off as soon as the car starts rite? If this happens, the trick is to start the car, as soon as the engine comes to life, rev the engine a bit so that it won't die off. A good thing about this car is, it shows all these symptoms which means the battery is gonna die soon. But the car can still be started if u know how to do it. My battery died 2 weeks ago. I didn't have time to get it changed immediately. I used the car for 5 days with all these symptoms before I finally went to change it. I was sort of experimenting to see how long more the battery could still be used.

OK now my battery is finally dead haha, so when you heard this "Dung" sound(only when the gear is in P position) better get your battery replaced. You don't want to end up taking the cab home if you were elsewhere. lolx

Hi to all my206club members,

Just want to confirm something. I sometime will get this 'dung' sound when I start the engine, especially after I left my car very long or after a cold night (raining). While starting the engine I can see speedometer goes crazy, move backward. Then sometime my air beg warning will light up. if I let my car for a while, turn off and start again, the air beg light will go off. Once in a while the engine immobilizer fault warning also appear at the MFD.

There is also one time that even the anti pollution fault also shown at the MFD. But strangely my car does not show any abnormal behavior at all.

Could all this be blamed on weak battery?

Same as me. And when the battery is really weak, the meter and light etc all gone crazy. Then definitely you have to change the battery.

The anti-pollution might cause by bad fuel; If you notice this problem or sluggish performance when trying to pickup speed, try to change fuel or different station.

Hi my car also have the dung sound... I'm quite sure is battery weak. The first time it happend which I just get my car for 6 month I ignore it....true enough not long after that I couldn't start my car.

Now the sound comeback especially if I didn't start my car for 1 day or sometime more than 12 hours, the last time I change my battery is about 1 year 9 month ago and I change to a bigger size battery as compare with the ori.

I will need to change the battery again this weekend before it totally flat. I think this is a good feature from the this car as others car don't even give you this type of warning.

Hi...

As i read through the post, i am getting all these symptoms too right now..

1) Hear the nice high-pitch, high-class airplane "duuung" sound when i try to start the car wink.gif [for couple of week already]
2) All car meter went berserk.. "ANTI-CLOCKWISE" and engine dies off as soon as the car starts. [yesterday morning]
3) Driver & passenger airbag light went ON [but this is intermittent, cuz the second time i start my car after resting 6 hrs, the light went off again]

Have not change the battery yet... will update again on how it goes!
Now need to survey which is best alternate battery.. cuz was told the ori cost RM5xx haha...

p/s: Item 2&3 when you first see it sends chill down your spine and gives you cold sweat tongue.gif

UPDATES:
I have just called the supplier of Varta based on what Andy wrote in his post & recomendation from the blog..
http://forum.autowor...h...&hl=battery

Called the mobile number given, spoken to Mr.Tan who is the owner himself... came over to my office (as its nearby his shop) and changed it for me... cost me RM350 for VARTA BLUE DYNAMIC DIN55L (which he claim is an OEM batt for Peugeot)

Now my lion is back to normal again smile.gif
Apparently when he use a machine to check the power of my remaining battery, it is already weak.
So in conclusion, the symptoms above can be triggered when your car battery is weak...

Hope this helps!
