I need honest feedback for this Car.. Recommended by my friend. Do test drive 2.0. Its fine drive but nothing much impress me compare 308THP. I mean performance and design. Need further input..
The thing that why i should choose due to below reason only (compare others competitor).
1. 8 airbag (of coz security)
2. Push start/keyless (cool features)
3. 10k interval maintenance (to save time)
4. Competitive price (now got challengge from Inspira)
Hope you guys not wrongly interpret my intention.. this is good car but further highlight (+ve n -ve) such as major concern are welcome.

Hi ejan,
As always, my advice in buying cars, do lots of test drive especially pay the salesman little commission and top up some fuel persuading him to let you drive longer and further to try out everything. Firstly, ask yourself whether you wanted couple oriented or family oriented. How long do you plan to own the car before selling.
308THP (Hot hatch) is fitted with turbocharger boosted to have output/torque of 2.3-2.5L engine. It is more towards couple oriented. Interior quality, dash design, smooth comfortable Nappa seats are best in class ideal for going out with partner. Its handling and performance are superb, I can say it's passion car. It's a hot hatch conti selling at affordable price.
Forte 2.0 (Sedan) is more towards family oriented with concentration towards practicality though having some sporty looks and great handling for a car with torsion beam rear as added value. Its torque aka pulling power of 194Nm@4300rpm is amongst the highest when compared to Japs C & D segments 2.0L. Its FC should be similar to heavier Sonata NF, I don't own this so have to wait Forte 2.0 owners to tell you.
Interior wise able to sit 5 full size adults right with good headroom, legroom and interior width. Bootspace big enough with split fold seats allowing you to put more cargo if necessary. Its reliability and durability can be taken from the old Sonata NF that has been around since 2006. It is 1 reliable machine with engine sourced from MMC, the 4B11 with hydraulic valve timing rebadged as Theta I4.
Inspira, it is still too early to judge. If you planned to add this car into your shortlist, I'll suggest you to wait and find out everything about its tech, QC, FC, etc and compare to Lancer before deciding.
Hi rikeys,
The 308THP is not a no brainer car. It is conti with great handling and build quality.

Thanks for ur feedback. Agree with u that we shall choose based on Priority. I'm family man with 3 kids. Priority as below; No 1 is high priority; I can say this will be only 1 Car for our family. No 2nd car since i'm riding weekday. Car will be drive daily by my wife to fetch kids. I'm still below 40.
1. handling
2. styling
3. comfort
4. power
5. after sales service
6. resell value
7. fuel consumption
with many new model introduce, its become headache to choose. Budget below 130K.
Already test drive Forte (2.0), 308THP, Lancer Sportback (2.4), Altis (1.8, 2.0) n Sylphy. Still pending test drive list, Ford TDCi, 407, Cruze etc (more headache)..
As per today, clear winner for me is Lancer Sportback but question raised by my friend. Why not Forte? Can save about 35K n come with many features.. when he saying that, asking forummer here on opinion. 308THP is superb buy for small family. My wife choose Altis 1.8.. still hunting car for coming 2011..
Hope can received more feedback especially about Forte.
All car not perfect, we shall never underestimate any car without testdrive. Who knows Inspira might be better than Lancer.

how can u compare performance of a turbo-charged car with N.A..... the 308THP turbo lag is quite obvious and the engine sound is loud and felt 'stressed' driven at high speed.... no doubt the continental handling remains unbeaten i dun think forte is far behind....furthermore the 308 is infamous for inheriting quite a few major probs and that will not give me peace of mind.....do read at their forum

Base on yr usage of taking kid to school, shopping & weekend drive, i suggest u to consider a Mid size MPV.
It would be easier for the kid & elder to get in & out, easier for yr wife to drive too as the driving position is higher.
Forget about Turbo & hatchback car, not practical for family.

i'm not targetting performance car so the fuel consumption is low priority.
for MPV, its might be next 5 year since not really required that.. MPV segment not really competitive as Passenger Car..
Coming to this thread to look Forte Owner opinion since they already own and used this Forte..
Tucson SUV? different class but sure will look before bought any car..
