Wow only RM49k but it is different from face-lifted model where it don't have the side chrome and side plastic panel. Long external radio antenna. Not sure what else is different but I won't mind if could save more than RM10k that can be used for maintenance and aging parts changing.

if it deep below 40k I sure buy another one..hehehehehe

Right, the Rexton Gold ads was posted since Aug, so definitely sold out. Some ads are gone within few days, especially the better price one.

Try to request for more internal photo of the cabin to confirm the model spec. Its mileage 130 000 - 139 999 is quite high for a 2005 that is about 28k/year.

sure can ask lower price. I think it is direct from owner.

Quite a few bros are in KL that can help you for viewing and test drive. If your viewing matched my schedule in KL, I can join in too but Bro Teerex & Bro RX270XDI is far more experience than me.

Good that you shortlist several choices (at least 3~5) for viewing, so that you have choices to choose. Bro Teerex and Bro RX270XDI viewed more than a dozen Rexton for 2 full days when buying Bro Teerex's.

Best if can bring to service center for checking as they know the car best.

Most importantly is to get a good condition car rather than getting it cheap because it may cost you more in long run. You only need to pay deposit once you are happy checked and tested everything but I think need to neg with the car dealer if to bring to service center/workshop for checking. Some car dealer has their own workshop or panel that can be used too. I have updated the first post in this thread with a checklist guide, do go thru it.

In Pg, we have Bro ByeBye2U to help. We also have bros in Melaka and Johor. Left with east coast and East Malaysia side, then we are covering whole of Malaysia... hahahaha

Maybe during Cherating trip, we should also visit SC/dealers there to recruit some Rextonians... hahahaha

hai,

I'm interested to buy Rexton 2.8A Petrol, 2003 (46K) with Mil 102,000 KM. It's worth to buy?. From the Interior photo, it's looks nice. Is that too old for this kind of Rexton???. I ask my wife & my brother to test drive it on this Tuesday.

Is there anyone can give the comment of it?

Hi rizalmhd,

I haven't test the petrol version, but from specification it consume more, less torque compare to 2.7xdi, comes with 4 speed auto. So, the best option still 2.7xdi.from mudah you can get it from as low 49k!! if you in KL you can ask bro teerex,rx270xdi or razopower to help you search.

2.8 litre, 6 cylinder produce 197 hp at 5500rpm and 270 NM torque at 3750 rpm.
2.7xdi , 5 cylinder produce 164 hp at 4000rpm and 345 NM torque from 2400rpm. you can select 2wd or 4wd low or high by pushing a button only.

Posted this PM here for more bros to share advice and opinion.

I have decided to buy a Rexton (first time with this car) and saw your useful guide, which is full of sensible advice.

I am looking for probably a 2005 2.7 diesel model, though if I find a good 2004 that would be OK too I guess.

One piece of advice I want to ask before I go viewing cars, is whether there are any particularly weak points with the Rexton that I need to look out for when I go viewing? I mean, are there any potentially expensive failure points that an experienced Rextonian will look for when buying a second hand Rexton?

Another question, what do you mean by "U-turn test" in your guide?

Thanks for any help, and sorry if I have repeated questions that have been asked before.
