I have just clocked about 1,500km after taking delivery on 24 Sept 2010. Like to comment about my experiences with the car so far:
1. Handling and ride of the car is good for a D segment car. The car feels continental in overall feel and ride and acceleration pick up more towards Japanese..... it is taking good traits from both and putting into the new YF.
2. Fuel soncumption is good. I am getting about 8.5-9l/100km with highway and heavy town driving. This is the best in class with the exception of FSI engines for D segment 2.0l car.
3. Comfort level is excellent and interior room is one of the largest for D segment car. better than Camry.....
4. Need to change the OEM horn. I have changed mine to Stebel which is loud.......
5. I have also install LED DRL that fits perfectly on the lower air intake lip........ see my profile pic. looks OEM and i like it.
I have just done 3M tint on the car plus the roof and it do makes the inetrior much cooler. Next project will be Sierra Glow this Friday to get the protective coat on my new Sonata YF 2.0l HS.
More updates soon.......

Hi ricprom,
Thanks for the feedback. Please get few more FC readings. Try to get reading with not driving above 3000rpm with mostly at below 2500rpm. From my test, it gets adequate pulling power at just 2000rpm or 2500rpm. Also try with 2500-3000rpm. Appreciate much, thanks.
All owners!
Please post here so that more people will know about the readings, measurements, outcome, etc. Current carmags reviews aren't telling anything. Most important info is the worst city traffic FC. See whether it could beat the Sonata NF's FC that is already better than Camry and Accord getting 8.9km/L at worst standstill city traffic and at 9.4-9.6km/L for normal city traffic.
Only thing I dislike about the new Sonata YF is the interior width reduced compared to Sonata NF. Rear headroom still fine for me having 60mm space before reaching ceiling compared to NF with 80-90mm of space.
Maybe jaysonata wanted to tell me something about his car that I can't afford to buy yet.

Guys,
I agree 100% with rciprom on the handling, fuel and comfort. It is really good and no regret getting the new YF Sonata.
I have just sent the car today for 1K service in OKR.
Items changed so far :-
Interior, rear number plate and front change to LED. It's nice. Not able to get the LED for the fog lamp yet.
Tinted with Ray-Tech (panaromic roof inclusive).
Ordered chrome cover for Fog light from web and waiting for delivery.
Plan items :- 1. Changing the horn
2. DRL light, might order it from internet as well. It looks nice.
Rciprom,
How much does it cost for the protective paint ?

i think it is not a valid remarks............. all hear say. From what I understand the Sonata YF was only delivered just before Hari Raya for the 1st batch and the 2nd batch after Raya........... it is probably not more than 2 months old for most of the Sonata with the exception of the test car.
If the guy is selling the car at RM70K i think there is alot of takers out there in the market as some cannot wait for their cars. Further to that with 5years warranty, the car can be sort out if there is problem.
To answer your question, I paid about RM 2k for the tint..... 3M Crystalline series.
I don't have any problem with the car... infact rather happy with it despite coming from Continental cars. Rest ensure the new Sonata has changed from the previous Hyundai.... they can take on the Japanese marque.

I am scheduled for the Sierra Glow tomorrow...... was quoted not more than RM 800. I think it is fair price

Kennie,
I dun think so it is true as well..Sonata NF is going for RM70k, and agree with Rciprom that just 2 months and a lot of people are eager to drive the car.....so not suppose to be any issue. I am driving for the past 3 weeks.....Love the car....
Rciprom,
Is it one time, or you need to maintain it every 3 months....
Think all of us shld meet up one of this days...for a tea (Klang Valley)......share some thoughts on Sonata...
cheers

Hi,
Can you get your uncle to pass the contact number of the person wanting to sell his std spec YF 2.0 for RM70K? I am interested to buy it. hehe.
I also have a problem with the new sonata. I have to start paying instalments for the loan. Hahaha, but then it's a good problem.

that doesn't sound right at all......brand new would be 130K (right?) why sell for almost half the price? even if it does have some issues - unless the issues are major like gearbox change or he has crashed the car and now it just looks and feels funny. This fella must be making some serious cash to be dumping 70K like that (if he is, then that dude should have gone and bought a passat or something like that)
i think this is one of those stories that have been passed on and on and each time it passes on, the details become blurry.
I also know ALOT of Honda accord and Toyota camry owners trying hard to post rationalise their purchases - stating things like Honda has better value and camry is just in a different class, etc etc.........
the truth is simple - its out there (a little x files moment there) - just read all the US based blogs for the car - and read all the car reviews - not 1 review says the car isnt worth it - almost all journalists rate the car on par (if not better) than all of its rivals...i hope the YF wins the car of the year award (it stands a damn good chance).
ish

The Sierra Glow paint coating/shield is supposed to last 5 years with the right care.... that is NO outside car wash unless those detailer car wash that use 2 bucket system and not harsh detergent. I would reckon it will last 1 year and then clay bar clean it on the yearly basis to get rid of the rough dirt that stick to the car. They warranty the shine to 5 years so worth trying.
I will be the 1st Sonata YF owner doing this Silica (Glass) coating and I am doing it tomorrow. I will update you guys after that and share my thoughts.
