Organised a Northen TT at Agogo then.. hehehee

I am still traveling, will be in Pg on Fri & Sat, part-time tour guide my in law on my Rexton... so far, should have traveled more than 1,000km with RM200 diesel that's include going up Ipoh > Pg > Lumut > Ipoh > Cameron > Brinchang > Tanah Rata > Bringchang > Cameron > Ipoh > Sungkai > to be continued

Just back from a week long traveling. The full journey from Ipoh > Pg > Ipoh > Lumut > Ipoh > Cameron > Brinchang > Tanah Rata > Brinchang > Cameron > Ipoh > Sungkai > Ipoh > Pg > Ipoh traveled a total of about 1,400km for a period of 9 days for RM250 diesel that work out about RM0.178/km or 9.80 km/litre. Fuel consumption could be better if not for climbing Simpang Pulai > Cameron > Tanah Rata > Cameron and 2 days with heavy traffic at Pg town.

Smooth and comfy drive with 5 adults + 3 kids, just not much space left for luggage after 3rd row seat.

Hello everyone! Im back after long raya leave. Really enjoyed the journey with my rex!. She not giving me problem at all.
Frm kl>k.lipis>gmusang>k.krai>machang>jerteh>pasirputih>kotabharu>pasirmas>tumpat>pengkalankubur>guamusang> cameronhighland>simpangpulai>puchong!

clocked in 1300km within 6 days with no problem at all. Now the she need a rest for few days... sleeping in the garage... need to go and full wash tomorrow....

hope to see you guys on 24th... many things to share especially on technical things....

What's your drive experience from Cameron > Simpang Pulai? If you driving at night, that would be really challenging especially with Tokyo drifter-wannabe tailing you.

I wonder if anyone tried running 4WH on descending hill drive? Would this safer and better than using using lower gear force? Quite fun playing with the steptronic but worried if it will harm the transmission box.

Hi All Bros,
Glad everyone back safely without much problem.
I have just finished my tank of Fuel, did not travel much
just went back to Tampin and then back to PJ.
Guess what!! My Rex managed to clock 690km at Rm 117 of diesel he! he! he!
don't jealous lol!!

Wow, that is RM0.169/km or 10.32km/litre, you sure win the fuel saver award. On a side note, my service center foremen advise not to use till empty as all the dirt and impurity at the bottom, he recommended to use till half of the last quarter. What do you guys think?

Bro Teerex,

don't be too happy loh, it might just be one or two injectors already clogged up, that why save more fuel. because your exhaust black smoke is just same as dark clough!!!! hahaha.....

Bro rx270xdi,
aiyaa!if you don't want to see black smoke then follow my back lol!! he! he! he! smile_cool.gif

Hello everyone,

Glad to here everybody is back safe and sound ! How's everybody's hols ?

Bro errierext, u will anytime "Tar Pau" the Alphard anytime unless it is a 3.5 V6 version running on straight highway. If not.....hahaha "pui" come smell my ass babe ! Heheh...lol.

Bro Teerex, I think you are the only one with this kind of consumption, I can only manage 610 km with RM 110 of diesel fuel. Can share your secret ka on how to achieve this kinda consumption ? I am sure all of us would like to know ?

Cheers Guys !

This is the same case today.. a white Alphard keep tailing me at 120kmh and the left lane is full, so no chance to give way to him. My Rexton is full load with 5 adults + 3 kids + luggages, plus in law on board, so must behave on road. When reaching Sgi Perak stretch with slight climb, just release fuel pedal awhile and then fully floor it with a thick black smoke bombing the Alphard and accelerate to 140kmh climbing leaving him behind in thick black smoke. He can't even accelerate to catch up with me... hehehe..

Now the black smoke is good defensive weapon against those who like to tail your backside, you can really smoke him and the black smoke is really thick blocking his good view.

Found one at kota bharu, interested with this RX230, if have extra money, planning to trade with my dad sportage. I manage to talk with one of the owner at carwash, he told me this rex is quite underpowered but its suitable for old guy like him. beside, the roadtax is cheaper, fuel consumption about RM0.18 per KM. Search all over the car dealers, just found RX290, RX270 and RX320.

RM0.18 / km for RX230's petrol engine is very good, hopefully you did confirm the figure is not from 80kmh at highway. Have not driven a RM230 before, so not sure how underpowered it is but if you are not taking Rexton for a rally or hill climbing, I think it won't matter too much. RX270XDI road tax is about RM1,100+ , how much is RX230 cheaper?

Hi Bro,

just pick-up my rex, confirm it is bearing but not front right, actually front left ( humming sound come from front right??!!)
there are 2 bearing, part no 32009 and 32008 cost RM42 each. I also change the coolant and power steering oil, and 1 of the bulb for the headlight ( every month sure change bulb!!). I also tried out the Petronas Urania CJ-4 engine oil,Now I'm ready for our TT smile_tongue.gif

btw. at my mechanic shop there is a Sorento with a Koyak transfer case, pity the owner ( heard it would cost 10k!!). Sorento comes with permanent 4WD high or low only, no 2WD.

Bro,

Does your humming sound similar like mine when you test drive ? I still can't confirm mine if it is wind sound. When I tested with the foremen from service center here, he can't confirm too, got to leave there for further checking.

How is the new Petronas Urania CJ-4 engine oil feel like? Lighter and more power?

the humming come from below the car and I can feel a slight vibration when the speed reach 70km/h. have you tested with the window down?

Petronas Urania CJ-4 feel the same like previous oil, maybe after 5000 km or...I'll check the milage to see if any improvement later this week.

but changing the power steering oil does give some improvement, much smoother and lighter than before.

hey...1400km...you really raya than me..hihihi

hi bro,

I also still wonder how bro teerex manage 16sen per km.....ada campur air ka..hahahah

Hi Bro,

Maybe is just because the Fuel Filter been 50% clogged up(Suspect), new filter will have higher the fuel pressure and flow rate, just worried his engine is running at very Lean, that why alot of smoke during pickup or full throttle.
