Demand is there, guess they don't want to risk trying....anyway, who dun want a more powerful Cruze with lower fuel consumption (hybrid like FC). Heard the Focus diesel is soo well received compared to what was anticipated by SDAC. Quite a waiting period if book now (there, actually most savvy msian-ie younger gen knew abt the modern diesel engine)

Agreed, I already test driven but 'home minister' x approve since I already bought two new cars with a year, buying one more would make it three in a year, hardly makes sense. Tengah tunggu green light by year.

I hv actually waiting for my Cruze..
Suppose to arrive tis week but then again as usual for all car dealers...
When I told my friends tat I hv ordered Chevy..
Most of them have disagree response..Anyway, I m ok..
I hv chosen Cruze cos the pricing vs spec given vs all Jap cars in Bolehland.
U just can't get it at tis price..Dun tell me the resale value..
Owners who worry abt resale value aren't car lover tat appreciate car/driving..
Cruze might be underpower (Didn't really notice), like all said..
But one must understand tat tis is a heavy car comparing to Civic/Altis/Sentra
But not Lancer GT..I owned 1 b4..Multi link suspension..superb handling..
So the FC will definitely higher compare to Civic/Altis/...
But then again U r in a safe car..Bear in mind tat heavier car tends to be safer..
So what do U want?? Stable car with good spec or good FC car with lower spec??
Till then..Selamat Berpuasa to All Muslim..

The only way you could sell the Cruze is to prove its FC, reliability and durability to public. Need to sacrifice 1 Cruze for toughest use and to show its FC in city is to drive until empty and get the people to get the reading themselves. That is first step follow by spare parts availability, after sales service and maintenance cost. The best thing to show on the spot is its superior handling and performance followed by NVH and back to start again.
Best is to pump in 1 or 2 litre of fuel and let showroom visitors to empty the car's fuel tank personally. That'll please them. That'll be 1L of RON95 at RM1.85 or 2L of RON95 at RM3.70 per potential car buyer. Worths the price to buy confidence rather than many come to test drive for 5 min then go off without proving anything. Don't forget that if the FC is good, these test drives will help spread the facts around. Getting the sacrifice car to push to max and reach very high mileage could help prove reliability & durability.
Look this thread is getting quiet despite the Cruze being a new car. Better act fast before too late. Several car mags did not even get its FC reading and straight away gave Sylphy the winner blindly despite the authors did not even get FC readings for all the test units. It is clearly shown that they purposely spread false news with some intention. Wake up or you won't survive
Hi chevy9231,
Chevy marketing staffs didn't really know how to market the Cruze effectively. Perhaps you could do it for them. Post FC readings in heavy city traffic for at least 2 months to show how good the Cruze is. It has dual VVT so it is supposed to be good. Since you bought the Cruze, I'm sure you wanted to improve its resale value.

The old-timers of the industry told me that in the 1980s, Toyota did exactly this when they launched the Corolla LE 12 Valve. They poured minuscule amounts of fuel into the tank and let the customers drive it till empty.

Back then in 60's, 70's till very early 80's, cars with carburetor engines, they would just place a bottle of 1 gallon of fuel on top of the carburetor and drive till empty. For cars with fuel injection, they'll just pump in 1 gallon of fuel in the tank and drive till empty. The FC readings in old var catalogs are 90-100% accurate. If it is listed as 30mpg for Ford Cortina 1.3, I can drive that car till empty reaching 30 miles on 1 gallon of fuel.
Today, they are nothing but propaganda and lies that are not tested and proven. Those rollers don't even have friction compared to our rough roads tarmac with much friction that have real traffic, redlights and obstacles.
skykisser & KL3223,
Cruze like the Forte is CBU. They are brought into this country with doors, boots and bonnets unattached and GURUN plant only refit them back in 1 piece and that is considered CKD. Quality remains untouched and you get imported units. Some parts such as battery, A/C, radio, hifi system + seats are sub to local contractors to prevent enormous tax. Same goes to other carmakers.
