Modenas Elegan experience

My rear absorber kaput already. I've changed to Kayaba thought the ride gonna be something in balance of soft+hard but not.
I travelled most on lumpy roads and it was too hard, what a spine crushing experiendc. Plus it raised the bike around 2 inches.

When i asked the mechanis he said this is common..if i knew is this hard i would rather keep my kaputs stock absorber, at least still have some comfort.

Anyone on kayaba to share. Is it really hard? or it just me being conned by the mechanics.

I had my GTS stocks changed to YOSHI shocks, the ride is a bit harder but not uncomfortable. Holds its lines better going into corners. Shocks give better damping action when riding 2 up without bottoming feeling over ruts & road irregularities. Maybe u should give it some time to wear in or get used to it. How much is Kayaba btw?

I got it rm240 per pair. Was offered rm120 per pair for yoshi (adjustable). What made me changed my mind to KYB just bcoz this is hydraulic type.

I got my YOSHI at rm200 at NKS Sentul. The YOSHI shocks were just the correct length for GTS 200. Earlier thought to go for Racing Boy for Ego but springs were shorter & had to add brackets. Looks like a good deal for your KYB, but better check length on your ori spec as u mentioned that it made your bike 2" taller. Hopefully it doesn't bounce off your tracking lines or affect dynamics too much. Can't it be adjusted for softer damping action?

I saw an ad in Mudah selling Elegan 150 cc at RM 5858. The shop is Arif motor something at Jalan Kapar, Klang. I called up and they said total OTR price will be RM 6200.

Anybody got any experience with the shop? Is it a good price?

been there for inquiry. they downgrade ur new bike to 2nd hand by selling the new registration of ur bike.thats why less price.u will get your new bike with older registration no. and when there is a buyer of ur new no.

Hi.. Its been almost 4 years I didn't log in n only in recent times I manage to follow some of the threads.. FYI I often made a round trip from down south peninsula to kl for the past years n latest being in May this year.. I even had a round trip back to JB in 12 hours once.. So far this scoot is very reliable n tops achieved on north south h/way are 130kmh.. But usually during long trips on h/way I would maintain averaging speeds of 110-120kmh effortlessly.. I'm sure those who had mods on their ride would result in better performance than my 2006 stock standard version.. And yes, the key to a prolonged performance is to well maintain it.. Nice to read on various issues of the beloved ride.. Cheers

My Elegan create problem every morning. Cannot start the engine. However, the engine can be started after 10 (hot day). I have change the battery, spark plug, service the carburetor, change the filter and change the fuel pump. What else should I do/change?

salam..maybe wiring bocor ataupun cdi atau rectifier dh kong....saya baru 3 bulan pakai Elegan ( Janda version)...2 bulan pakai ok..masuk bulan ke 3..pagi2 takleh start..trus makan bateri..tukar bateri baru pun sama..fedup sgt..pi hantar kat McDonas, Jalan Ipoh...pomen check CDI,,rectifier suma ok..sakpek ada wiring bocor( derang bagi tau ler)..so kena check wiring satu2...last2 tesadai kat McDonas...sbab jangka lama tsadai kt bengkel..so saya trus mintak upgrade blok Modenas 200cc...mintak2 pasnih makin smooth...

saya dulu rider xcite 130..sbb slalu ride jauh + bawak dokumen...amik Elly trus...yang tensen pasal Elly ni dia takleh naik divider mcm dulu2..

For VTS yes for EVO no maybe next year. With EVO planning to go to Thailand further than Hatyai
